The Korean Academy of Endodontics and the Local Organizing Committee of the 11th
Congress of the World Endodontic Congress in Seoul submit the following progress report
for hosting IFEA WEC 2018. This report is current to this date.

1 Hosting Organization
Founded in 1991, the Korean Academy of Endodontics is committed to the
development of endodontics academically, and to the improvement of the quality
of the dental treatment in Korea.

Hosing an academic conference biannually Hosting a monthly lecture Publishing an academic journal (Endodontics & Dental Rehabilitation) biannually, as
well as various textbooks and clinical guidelines Ranked number four in the number of published articles in major journals in the

The LOC had regular monthly director’s meeting since November 2016 for a total of 21 meetings.

2 Time Plan Progress
The following progress has now been made, to ensure that the congress is a success.
[1] Promotion (Association Support)
The LOC is promoting IFEA WEC 2018 worldwide through related societies and associations (including fellow IFEA members), inviting them to be communication partners. As a communication partner, the accepted society will help us promote the Seoul congress through any of the following options:
- Linking to the IFEA WEC 2018 website from their society’s website (Either banner exchange or website link)

[4] Scientific Program
- Invited Speakers & Chairs 34 speakers and 27 country-representative speakers will participate in the main
scientific program.
41 chairs & moderators will participate in the main scientific program.
28 moderators will participate in free lectures and oral presentations
- Scientific Program Main scientific program with 30 invited lectures and 27 country representative
speakers are organized. Scientific program also consists of 11 hands-on courses, 1 live endo & discussion, 2
special Lectures (Korean Session), 13 free lecture sessions and 16 oral research presentation sessions, 3 lunch & learn sessions.
- Oral & Poster Presentation 330 abstracts have been submitted and 291 abstracts to be presented within the
context of the Congress, 26 as free lectures, 68 as oral presentations, 102 as poster presentations and 96 as clinical case presentations.

Best Presentation Awards: 6 awardees will be selected.

5 Tour Program The Korea tourism organization supported the tour program fee to encourage tours in Korea. The tour rates can be decreased by up to 80%, as below. In addition to the congress's official tour program, an on-site FIT tour program also will be run during the congress at the tour desk at the Hall D lobby.

7 Congress Budget
This progress report was submitted in electronic format to the IFEA on September 12, 2018.
At this stage, the income and expenses of the IFEA WEC 2018 Congress are ongoing. Final payments
from the exhibitors are not yet received, and we expect that the figures below may vary due to
exchange rates, because we are managing US dollar and Korean won accounts.
Regarding congress income, those registration numbers include some outstanding registration
payments that will be finalized onsite or will possibly be no-shows. As far as expenses, some of the
services are not yet confirmed, and the total number of orders will be confirmed very soon. A detailed
report will be submitted to the IFEA within two months after the closing date of the congress.
