Kayak & Canoe Rentals Rental Rates Boat Type Rate Half Day (4hrs) Single $15/hr $45 Tandem/Canoe $25/hr $70 UMass Lowell Discounts UMass Lowell Students, Faculty, Staff, and Alumni receive a $5 discount per rental hour with a valid ID. Group Discounts Discounts on rentals are available for groups of 8 or more people. Visit our website or call us for more details on discounted rates. Reservations are recommended but not required for groups. Reservations Kayaks may be reserved ahead of time by calling the Kayak Center at 978-995-2362. Shuttle reservations must be made 1 day in advance. Shuttles are also available to and from the Nashua, Concord, and Squanacook rivers on weekdays, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. We can help you plan a great day trip to any of these locations. Introduction to Kayaking Saturday, June 14 or July 26, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.Tuesday/Thursday, July 8/10 or August 5/7, 5 -8 p.m.(Must attend both days)

$100/person

Recommended for beginner kayakers and those looking to builda solid foundation of skills, our certified instructors will teachACA Level 1 & 2 skills during this program. We will start withpersonal preparation, the paddling environment, and equipmentuse. We will then move on to rescue techniques and paddlestrokes with plenty of games, practice, and feedback.

Quick Start to Flatwater KayakingSaturday, June 21 or August 2, 9 -11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2-4 p.m. Monday, August 4, 6-8 p.m.

$30/person

This 2-hour program is designed to give participants a jump start in kayak skills emphasizing safety and basic skilldevelopment. Participants will receive an overview of on-water safety, equipment use, forward and sweep strokes.For those with limited time, or looking to try something new,this is the program for you!

*Our Instructional Programs are designed for adults but teensages 14 and older are welcome to participate with a parent.

On this guided tour we will meet at the Boathouse at 7p.m. and paddle upstream on the Merrimack River. We willenjoy the sunset while floating on the water before heading back to the Boathouse in the twilight. Please come15 minutes early if you would like kayaking instruction.Appropriate for adults and children.

Our moonlight tours are guided tours of the MerrimackRiver using the light of the full moon. As the temperaturebegins to cool and world quiets, paddling by moonlightoffers a special experience that you will remember forever. Please come 15 minutes early if you would likekayaking instruction. Appropriate for adults and children.

This clinic combines skill development and environmental education with a boat full of fun! First and foremost, kids willlearn how to be safe on the water. Kids will play games onland and on water while learning about the relationshipbetween animals and the environment. They may test water quality and go searching for turtles and birds. They willbecome masters of their boats learning posture, paddlestrokes, rescues, and more. Kids will leave with self-confidenceand lasting memories. Appropriate for kids 10-13 years old.

Kayaking Teens–New this Summer! Monday-Friday, July 21-25, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

$125/person

For teens looking for a paddling adventure of their own, join us for a week of exploration. After a day of safety andpaddling instruction on the Merrimack River, we will ventureout to some of its’ tributaries—from the scenic Concord to the marshy Nashua River, come experience a great diversity. We will explore these areas and learn about our environmentalimpact on this adventurous week. Appropriate for kids 14-17 years old.

Custom ProgramsWe offer custom tours and programs for diverse groups.Whether you want to take your family and friends on asunset tour, teach your scout troop about water qualityand environmental stewardship, or provide a team building experience for your office, we have somethingfor everyone!

We can provide many of these opportunities not only on the Merrimack, but also on the Nashua or ConcordRivers. Custom guided tours are available for groups of 6 or more. Choose the times and dates that best fit your schedule.
