Introduction

Last year we convened the Malaria Summit alongside

the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting,

reaching over one billion people with our ā€˜Malaria Must

Dieā€™ campaign, delivering $4.1 billion of investment to

the global fight from governments and the private

sector, and a momentous commitment from 53 leaders

to halve malaria in five years.

Our bold new target and five-year strategy is focused

on the ambitious vision of collaborating with others to

halve malaria across the Commonwealth in the next

five years. This provides MNMUK with a strong roadmap

to international impact and requires a doubling of

organisational income by 2020 to deliver this. With the

clock ticking on the 53-leader commitment, it is critical

we do this as effectively and rapidly as possible.

Malaria has been described as the oldest killer disease

in history; even now, despite recent progress, it claims

the life of a child every two minutes. Malaria No More

UK (MNMUK) is part of a global movement that is

determined to make ours the generation that beats

this killer. To realise this vision, we are mobilising a

powerful network of governments, influencers,

businesses and the public, inspiring them to commit

funds, energy and resources to ending deaths from

malaria and wiping out the disease for good.

We are a small hard-working team with ambitions and

objectives that reach way beyond the expected,

and every member of our team contributes to winning

the fight to ending malaria, saving millions of lives and

eradicating the poverty that this disease causes to so

many. UK government malaria investment has trebled

during our ten-year existence.

An analysis of our future growth and income

opportunities shows that the most significant area of

potential growth will derive from capitalising on the

recent success of Malaria Summit, building on existing

relationships with the likes of Bill & Melinda Gates

Foundation, GSK, MMV etc., developing deeper aligned

strategic partnerships within the global health

community and other organisations working on

SDG3/Malaria. These will range from government

agencies and public/private partners to major global

companies and targeted major donor investors.

We have powerful tentpole moments to build towards,

from ensuring a successful Global Fund replenishment

in 2019, to delivering major objectives at the next

Commonwealth Heads of Government in Kigali in 2020.

As the organisation turns its focus more towards the

Commonwealth and Africa there is also the potential to

target new programmes and funding global

foundations, business etc., with significant African and

commonwealth footprints as well as explore innovative

financing mechanisms.

Weā€™re looking for an exceptional leader to build a new

area of our work developing and establishing the

strategic programmatic partnerships that will enable us

to deliver this historic goal. You will lead on building

and managing relationships with a wide range of

development and global health partners, across the

world, who can transform the malaria fight, developing

powerful alliances which enable us to increase, expand

and evolve new and existing strategic partnerships.

Partnerships are part of MNMUKā€™s DNA, and this area

of work is critical to enabling the organisation to grow

and deliver the ambitious vision of halving malaria in

the Commonwealth in five years, including reaching

outside of the UK into the Commonwealth, Africa and

beyond. We are looking to partnerships and

programmatic collaborations that encompass full value,

tapping into organisationsā€™ and individualsā€™ ability to not

just invest, but also co-create, influence and multiply

our impact together.
