1. Reform Regulations: To promote a truly entrepreneurship-centered business climate, reform tax and regulatory environments so as to make it easier, faster, and less costly for entrepreneurs to set up enterprises, grow them if they are successful, or close them if not; minimize the time they spend on licenses, tax procedures, litigation and other similar activities.

2. Create New “Entrepreneur-Friendly” Institutions. Introduce new-style entrepreneurship-friendly support institutions that provide technological knowledge, market information, business know-how, certification services, access to capital, and other essential business support.

3. Promote Proper Governance. Set forth a governance framework which unambiguously encourages risk-taking, while also ensuring that ethics lapses, corruption, and neglect of environmental sustainability carry a high cost to reputation.

4. Foster Positive Entrepreneurial Attitudes. Foster a cultural context where entrepreneurship has a positive image and where entrepreneurial success is publicly celebrated.

5. Create an Early Education Entrepreneurial Curricula. Include within schools a curricula that promotes the development of the skills and attitudes that are the hallmark of entrepreneurship, such as: creating a vision, perseverance, creativity, spotting needs, empathy, leadership, dealing with ambiguity, risk-taking, and follow-through.

6. Develop Young Adult Entrepreneurial Curricula. Include within an education curricula practical elements of entrepreneurship and business development so as to increase the entrepreneurial IQ within the community.

7. Promote Lifelong Entrepreneurial Education. Provide entrepreneurs lifelong learning and development platforms for sharing of experience and best practices, coaching and mentoring, mutual support, and international networking, with the strong support of key stakeholders from business and civil society.

8. Empower Entrepreneurial Women, Minorities and the Disadvantaged. Support programs must also specifically target women, minorities, and the disadvantaged. Further, governments should implement laws and policies that ensure that entrepreneurs are sensitive to gender empowerment as well as diversity promotion.

Located in the historical and picturesque city of Hangzhou, Zhejiang University is a prestigious institution of higher education with a long history. Qiushi Academy, the predecessor of Zhejiang University, was founded in 1897 and was one of the earliest modern academies of higher learning established in China. In 1928, the academy was named National Zhejiang University. During the war time in 1940s, Zhejiang University moved to Zunyi, Meitan and other places in succession and stayed in West China for seven years. In 1946, Zhejiang University returned to Hangzhou. In 1952, due to a nationwide restructuring of universities, Zhejiang University underwent a reshuffling of disciplines.

Some departments merged into other universities and Chinese Academy of Sciences. The remaining departments were divided and developed to become 4 specialized higher education institutions, namely former Zhejiang University, Hangzhou University, Zhejiang Agricultural University and Zhejiang Medical University. In 1998, the four universities sharing the same ancestor merged to form the new Zhejiang University and set a new goal – to develop into a world-class university. In its 117-year history, Zhejiang University has always been committed to cultivating talent with excel¬lence, advancing science and technology, serving for social devel-opment, and promoting culture, with the spirit best manifested in the university motto “Seeking the Truth and Pioneering New Trails”.

KORLOFF TROPHY

Korloff is a well-known luxury brand: a collection marked by a touch of culture and the magic of the black diamond legacy... Korloff has introduced an inimitable style in its jewellery creations in the combinations of materials and colours it uses. This now also applies to the art of watch-making, where the company has applied the principles of the purest Swiss tradition. As a natural extension to its luxury lines, Korloff produces perfumes, spectacles and writing instruments carrying the back-to-back K signature which is the symbol of the brand. The haute-couture collection has given birth to the “Korloff lady”… a rare and unique woman who knows no physical or temporal borders, taking colours, codes and materials from the capitals of the world. Rarity is a luxury, and that luxury willaccompany you in those special moments of your life, making you so different.

KORLOFF’S "WORLD ENTREPRENEURSHIP FORUM" TROPHIES

The World Entrepreneurship Forum annually gives the “Entrepreneur for the World” awards to laureates representing several categories of entrepreneurial success in various continents. They symbolise the very essence of an entrepreneurship that creates both wealth and social justice.

Just a few years ago, Daniel Paillasseur, creator and founder of Korloff Paris jewellery business, was chosen by his peers as an inspirational figure for the development of SMEs. His attachment to entrepreneurship saw him agreeing to make the five trophies in his workshop located at 32 Avenue Foch in Lyon.

Taking inspiration from the two intertwined rings that represent the World Entrepreneurship Forum’s logo, one symbolising wealth and the other social justice, Daniel Paillasseur set about designing the trophies.

The hand-engraved bases are in black lacquered aluminium. The rings (except the upper two, plated in yellow gold) are in palladium-plated brass. They are entirely hand-made by Korloff’s master jewellers.

The end product: five beautiful pieces to recognise five outstanding contributions.
