Tuesday, February 16 & Wednesday, February 17 @ 8PMTracing the 400-year-old story of the Black church in America, THE BLACK CHURCH reveals
how Black people have worshipped and, through their spiritual journeys, improvised ways to bring their faith traditions from Africa to the New World, while translating them into a form of Christianity that was not only truly their own, but a redemptive force for a nation whose
original sin was found in their ancestors’ enslavement across the Middle Passage. Repeat 2/28 @ 8PM

On Easter Sunday, 1939, contralto Marian Anderson stepped up to a microphone in front of the Lincoln Memorial. Inscribed on the walls of the monument behind

Tuesday, February 2 @ 7PM An Evening With B.B. King provides a rare look into the life of the “King of the Blues.” Taped in Chicago in front of a live audience, King was interviewed by producer and songwriter Isaac Hayes. Born Riley B. King in Itta Bena, Mississippi on September 16, 1925 to sharecropper parents, his guitar-playing reverend first introduced him to gospel music as a child.
An insightful two-part biography of Princess Margaret, Queen Elizabeth’s
beautiful and rebellious younger sister. This special, featuring rare footage and
interviews with those who knew her best, offers unparalleled insight into Margaret’s
turbulent life and times. Her unique position as the Queen’s younger sister in a
changing Britain left her free to experiment and push boundaries, yet she was forever judged by a public and press beginning to
question the very idea of a monarchy.
Wednesdays, February 3 & 10
@ 8PM
The Central Park Five, a film from award-winning filmmaker Ken Burns, tells the

The Central Park Jogger case, for the first time from the perspective of these five teenagers whose lives were upended by
this miscarriage of justice.
Saturday, February 6 @ 10PM
Wednesdays, February 3 - 17 @ 7PMTravel with historian Lucy Worsley back to the Tudor court to witness some of the most dramatic moments in the lives of Henry VIII's six wives, each of whom found a method of exerting influence. The show combines drama with historical comment.

Saturdays, February 6 & 13 @ 10PM
Celebrate the life of the restaurateur, author, entrepreneur and television personality, who passed away in October 2015. The program features interviews with longtime colleagues, including chef Paul Miller, executive chef of K-Paul’s Louisiana Kitchen in New Orleans; chef Frank Brigtsen, first night chef of K-Paul’s; Marty Cosgrove of Magic Seasoning Blends; and Ella Brennan and Ti Martin
of the James Beard Award-winning Commander’s Palace – the restaurant where chef Paul first fused Cajun country and Creole sophistication as executive chef in the late 1970s.
Narrated by journalist Michelle Miller, Leah Chase - The Queen Of Creole Cuisine
chronicles the humble beginnings in small-town Louisiana and storied career of one
of the top chefs in the nation. For more than 70 years, Edgar "Dooky" Chase, Jr.
and Leah Chase worked tirelessly together to help shape the political and civil rights
movement in New Orleans. The couple turned a family sandwich shop in Treme
to a famous fine-dining restaurant called Dooky Chase, which was filled with Leah's
impressive collection of African-American art. The documentary shares this story of faith,
family and food by weaving together archival photos and interviews with notable New
Orleanians – including chef John Folse, the late restaurateur Ella Brennan (Commander's
Palace), former First Lady of New Orleans Sybil Morial, Freedom rider Rudy Lombard,
and Mayor Mitch Landrieu.
