General Information DOE Courses
All must register on the DCF/TMS system at http://www.myflfamilies.com/service-programs/child-careSelect Training and Credentialing, and then Course Registration.
Courses are free but limited in enrollment; let your instructor know if you cannot attend.
Each course receipt has information about food, parking, admitting time, and more.
When searching for courses, remember to change “DCF” to “DOE”
To confirm registration, log into your training transcript on the DCF website. At the top of the transcript, select the tab “ My Courses.” A list of both completed trainings, and scheduled courses will be viewable.

Course participants will gainearly math knowledge and practical information about how to structure the classroom environment and plan activities tointegrate math concepts and skills throughout the learning day. The course focuses on the mathematical thinking numbersense standards outlined in the Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards for Four-Year-Olds (2011) and theimportance of using a developmental progression when teaching math throughout the day. Picture slideshows and videosfilmed in Florida’s early learning classrooms as well as interactive activities will provide examples for how to support childrenin learning new math skills and using the “language of math”. The pictures and videos presented will also demonstrate bestpractices for instruction of the mathematical thinking number sense standards outlined in the Standards for Four-Year-Olds.Training on the Standards for Four-Year-Olds (online or instructor-led) is a recommended prerequisite for this course.NOTE: Those who have completed this first DOE math course will be the first invited to take subsequent DOE mathcourses.

Core Competencies for Early Care and Education Practitioners
Monday May 1 or Thursday June 1, 2017 6:00-9:00pm
ELC staff presenter
(30 person maximum each session)
OEL has identified several attributes, skills, and knowledge sets that effective early care and education professionals demonstrate. These are sorted by seven core knowledge areas, and then leveled into five tiers. This OEL training helps practitioners identify what they know and what they need to know to be successful in their positions.
Note: The Child Care Professional Development Registry is rolling out in July. Participants in the ELPFP have benchmark requirements to enter their data. Entry to the registry requires completion of the Standards Training and Core Competencies training. Bring your DCF student number found on your DCF transcript. This is necessary for future certificate verification.

Social-Emotional Development in Infants and Toddlers

This training will be about the social-emotional development in infants, young toddlers and two-year olds. We will discuss empathy, building relationships, learning to cooperate and learning self-regulation in infants and toddlers. Also, we learn about the characteristics of temperament and how to support a “goodness of fit” between the child and the caregiver.

Learn the appropriate techniques for applying standard first aid procedures and cardiopulmonary resuscitation withand without AEDs. Certification from the American Red Cross is good for two years. Participants take home Adultand Pediatric Ready Reference cards. Participants must supply a unique email address that the American Red Crosswill attach to their training record.
