START DATESCourses usually start in September/October and February/March of each academic year. Not all modules will be offered each semester and some courses will not run every year. You are advised to confirm course start dates with our Professional Development Unit at [email protected].
We recommend that you apply for courses early and plan your studies well in advance. Please be aware that all courses run according to a minimum number of students. In the event of a low intake, a course may be rescheduled to an alternative date. Some courses are also subject to maximum student numbers and therefore you’re advised to submit your application form as early as possible. Where courses are already fully booked on receipt of your application form, you will be contacted to discuss alternative course options.

A GUIDE TO TERMINOLOGYModule A module is a standalone self-contained unit of teaching, learning and assessment.
Award An award is a course which leads to a qualification, i.e. masters, degree, diploma or certificate.
LevelLevel of difficulty graded as per the Framework for Higher Education Qualifications (FHEQ) of degree awarding bodies in England, Wales and Northern Ireland Levels 4, 5, 6 and 7.
• Level 4 is the equivalent of first stage undergraduate study (for example, Certificate of Higher Education)
• Level 5 is the equivalent of second stage undergraduate study (for example, Diploma of Higher Education, Foundation degree)
• Level 6 is the equivalent of final stage undergraduate study (for example, Bachelors degree)
• Level 7 is postgraduate study (for example, Masters degree)

Clinical Research | MClinRes/PgDip/PgCertDo you want to become a leader in clinical research? The MClinRes covers the whole research process from initial question generation through to designing, managing and undertaking research, and the dissemination and implementation of findings. Learn from a team of experts in clinical research, drawn from a wide range of disciplines including nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, optometry, dietetics and medicine as well as representatives from patient and public support groups.

• Progress your career and become a leader in clinical research with a programme that provides both theoretical and first hand practical experience of the whole research process, from developing a clinically relevant question through to implementation of research in clinical practice.
• Aligns with key Health Education England and National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) objectives to develop clinical academics and increase research capacity in nurses, midwives, allied healthcare professionals and healthcare scientists.

• The MClinRes is specifically designed to help you gain future funding to further your clinical academic career. The programme specifically aims to progress you along the new NIHR clinical academic training programme for registered non-medical/dental healthcare professionals.
• An additional module on research management and mentorship, provided at the end of the programme, supports you in publishing and disseminating your research findings, presenting at national and international locations and applying for NIHR internships and fellowships.

Experience nine months working in critical care and gain a degree at the same time, studying our Intercalated BSc (Hons) Critical Care.
