Centre of Excellence Program sanctioned by UGC to reinvigorate learning & study of

traditional shastras.

• Coordinated the recording of nearly 260 hours of Shastra teachings and high level

shastric debates in subjects like Veda Bhashya, Mimamsa, Nyaya, Vyakarana, Dvaita,

Visishtadvaita Vedanta, Advaita Vedanta, Jyothisha and Sahitya by renowned

scholars in each field, for the benefit of the students of the Shastras, and to preserve

the shastric method of debate for posterity under the UGC Sponsored Audio-Video

Documentation Project

• Served as the Vice Chancellor of Sri Venkateshwara Vedic University in Tirupati

from February 2014 to July 2017, and introduced several new schemes, courses and

partnerships for the benefit of the students, teachers and the non-teaching staff

• Possesses substantial administrative experience from serving as the HoD and as the

Dean in Rashtriya Samsrit Vidyapeetha and as the Vice-chancellor of Sri

Venkateswara Vedic University. Well acquainted with the niceties of University

• A sought after resource person for philosophical workshops conducted all over India

for the past 20 years. Has attended over 150 seminars conducted by various

Universities, Colleges and Religious Institutions. Has conducted more than 15

advanced themes from all Indian Philosophies. Coordinated the publishing of 50

exceptional books as part of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the Rashtriya

Vishishtadvaita, Nyaya and Mimamsa. Has been cited in several international

publications of renowned authors in the field of Indian Philosophy.

• Has guided 18 scholars in their research and Doctoral Thesis in a wide variety of

subjects including Nyaya, Mimamsa, Vishishtadvaita Vedanta and Vaishnavism

• Imparted traditional training to more than 20 students moulding knowledgeable and

respected scholars with advanced proficiency in Shastras like Nyaya, Mimamsa and

Vishishtadvaita Vedanta. His students are present worldwide, holding important

positions in Universities in India, Australia, France, Japan, etc.

• Has undertaken the teaching of Indian Philosophies to Buddhist Monks starting from

February 2019.

• His lectures for over 240 hours on the complete text of Tattva Chintamani, an

exceptional treatise on Navya Nyaya Shastra, were recorded and released by the

Government of India. He has also released audio lectures on Bhatta Dipika, a reputed

commentary of Khandadeva on the Mimamsa Sutrams (aphorisms) of Sage Jaimini.

• He is a well versed scholar of the Krishna Yajur Veda and has been a zealous

advocate for the promotion of Traditional Vedic Learning. As Vice Chancellor, he

laid a solid foundation for research into rare branches of Vedic learning and started

the Veda-Science project in collaboration with eminent Scientists to unearth scientific

knowledge in the Vedas.

experience. I have authored/edited and published 23 books including 2 international

publications. I have attended hundreds of seminars/workshops and published close to 60

research articles on intricate topics from all the major Indian Philosophies. I am currently

the Vice Chancellor of the Karnataka Samskrit University situated in Bangalore.

I have guided close to 20 scholars in their research work and have trained more than 20

scholars with advanced proficiency in the Shastras. I have held several administrative

responsibilities including the Deanship at the Rashtriya Samskrit Vidyapeetha and the

ACHIEVEMENTS AS VICE CHANCELLOR OF S.V. VEDIC UNIVERSITY

• Laid solid foundation for the research into rare branches of vedic learning, introduced various

innovative approaches in academics, introduced Adarsha-Veda Gurukula to enrich the study of

Vedas, Kumara Adhyapaka Scheme to expand the vedic education, executed Sri Venkateswara

Veda Shastra Parirakshana Scheme, and as an out-reach program introduced Veda-Vichara Sarani

for the benefit of common public.

• Started Veda-Science Project in collaboration with eminent Scientists like Prof. CNR Rao, Dr D

Narayana Rao & Vedic scholars like Ch.SriRama Sarma to unearth scientific knowledge in Vedas

• Introduced several new courses including M.A. in Vaishnavism and Diplomas in Temple

Management, Divyaprabhanda and Hindu Dharma to cater to various interest groups:

Introduced the following

a. ‘Shrutasamvardhini Sabhas’ conducted 6 to 9 times a year to enable the students to improve

their communication and organizing skills

b. To widen the students’ intellectual horizons, interactive sessions with scholars are arranged

through the program of ‘Vijnanaveechi’.

c. For the University teachers to take up research projects, ‘Gaveshana’ was introduced.

d. ‘Veda Vichara Sarani’ (a web based program) is aimed at clarifying the doubts of the public

in subjects like Veda, Agama, Dharma Shastra etc.

e. ‘Veda Sandesam’ is launched to spread Vedic wisdom through university’s website.

f. ‘Veda Darshini’ is the monthly journal of the University with articles in English & Telugu for

public but with a focus to attract more youth towards seeking the knowledge of Vedic

literature. Veda Surabhi & Sevadhi are the two other journals launched.

• Implemented a tie up with All India Radio, Tirupati to air significance of various rituals and

Vedic cultural aspects for the benefit of audience and accordingly the selected scholar-staff

members of the University give programs periodically.

• Instrumental in the adoption of five nearby villages of Narayanavanam, Nagulapuram, Tondawada, Appalayagunta, and Gudimallam by Sri Venkateshwara Vedic University under AP

Government’s ‘Smart Village & Smart Ward’ and implementing selective activities with an aim

of bringing to the people our rich cultural traditions and life values enshrined in Vedic texts.

• Revamped the NSS that is run with self-finance. A voluntary team of teachers & students

participated in the rescue operations during the December 2015 floods in Chennai. They are also

regularly deputed to TTD temples for voluntary service during Brahmostavams. They regularly

participate in state and national programs like Swachha Bharat etc and celebrate youth festivals.

• Was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation on 26th January 2017 by Tirumala Tirupati

Devasthanam for extraordinary service as Vice Chancellor of S.V. Vedic University.
