3. Nephrologist - Renal Unit, Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), Nairobi.

a. Rendering renal services to patients of KNH, involved in running a weekly general nephrology clinic, transplantation services, and dialysis services. The unit has a capacity of 120 dialysis patients and carries out kidney transplantation a month.

b. Performing special renal procedures like insertion of subclavicular access lines, A-V shunts, renal biopsies, peritoneal dialysis catheter insertion

c. Teaching postgraduate students rotating through the unit the performance of the special procedures and other aspects of renal medicine. The renal unit rotation is a recognised special rotation for postgraduate doctors in medicine and paediatrics
