GENERAL PREPARATION TOOLS:Product: Selleys Professional Sugar Soap

Benefits: This product is ideal for paint and wallpaper preparation. It powers through grease and grime,

and removes dirty marks from walls and ceilings.

Product: 80, 120 and 180 grit sandpaper

The 120 grit was required to give the walls a light sand before the Guthrie Bowron Pigmented Sealer and the Dulux

1 step was applied. The walls were wiped down to remove the dust before these products were applied too. Once

dry, the 80 grit was used on the wall where Pigmented Sealer was used to key the surface. The 180 grit sandpaper

was used to give the walls a quick sand after the Dulux 1 Step had been applied, before the top coats were applied.

Product: Selleys Spakfilla Rapid

Benefits: Ready-mixed, lightweight, quick setting filler. Being very fast drying allowing you to sand and paint in a short

time period. It is suitable for use under water based and oil based paints.

Product: Tape Spec No.2 Multi Surface Masking Tape

Benefits: It is an ultra thin smooth Washi painters tape, for razor sharp lines. It is suitable for use on painted walls,

trim, wood work, glass and metal.

Benefits: Contains a roller tray, a roller handle and an 8mm nap roller sleeve that is suitable for both water and oil based paints.

5mm nap roller sleeves were used for the pigmented sealer preparation product. The 8mm nap roller sleeves

were used to apply the Dulux 1 Step and the Wash & Wear top coats.

with excellent hiding power.

Product: Guthrie Bowron Pigmented Sealer (used on wall where wall panels were applied)

Benefits: Sealing the surface prevents over absorption of size and paste and prevents the acrylic paint from

softening and the new wallcovering from falling off. It also prevents colours showing through

after the wallcovering has been applied.

Product: Dulux Wash & Wear 101 (used on all walls excluding wall where wall panel was applied)

Type: Water Based

Sheen: Low Sheen

Colour: Mt Aspiring (for neutral coloured walls), Lakeside (for painted feature wall).

Both of colours are from the Dulux Colours of New Zealand range.

Benefits: Dulux Wash & Wear 101 provides a super tough acrylic finish, allowing you to wipe away most

common marks and stains with a wet cloth.

Product: Dulux Aquanamel (used on doors, window frames, and skirting boards)

Benefits: Dulux Aquanamel is a water based interior/exterior acrylic enamel that can be used in many areas
