When I started recording I chose an easy and simple location, where i filmed wasn’t very necessary as long as it had a white plain background, so i chose my living room in my house. I recorded my advert against a plain white sheet with as much lighting as possible, because the codes and conventions of an eyeliner advert was that they were all mostly filmed with a plain background behind the actor. The only prop I used was the actual eyeliner product. The first shot is a close up shot of my eyes opening.

All the shots I filmed were either extreme close ups, mid shots or close up shots focusing on me, my face or the actual product.

I then took a shot of the product standing alone which I used for the final clip of my advert, I wanted to make sure the lighting was right and it was centered with nothing else in shot.

When I started editing the first thing I did was put all my clips into folders of what the clips contained. For example, all the shots with actor wearing eyeliner, shots of actor without eyeliner, clips of the product.

Then, I put all my clips in the order I wanted them to be in on the timeline, then i imported the music so I could get the clips to go with the rhythm of the music, then finally I cut the clips as short, or as long as I wanted them to be.

For example, I made sure with this shot that the actor’s eyes opened exactly when the music started.

Finally, once the clips were where I wanted them to be and the length I wanted them to be, I used the colour corrector to get rid of the yellow colour that was on most of my clips from the not natural lighting.
