PRODUCTION LOG- DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD

Page 2: Production log double page spread

Firstly to get the double page spread in InDesign you have to make sure that the sheet is A4 and landscape then by checking the width then there is tool that can split the page in to equal halves. Then I by going to file and place the image was on the first page.

(highlighted in the red box is the transparency tool )

The creation of the Headline

1. Firstly I used the text tool I wrote out each part of the headline using 3 boxes. 2. Secondly I used the rectangle tool to then put the background colour grey for the ‘Rows of’3. Thirdly I placed the words I order at the top of the page then:• I highlighted the first box with the word ‘Three’ and used the transparency tool to make the word the

word as visible and viewable. The use of the transparency is to make the headline connect and intertwine together .

The main body

To make the background grey ,I used by using rectangle tool to make the box and then used swatches to find the colour grey. To begin writing my interview the illustration of the baseline grid was needed. The baseline grid- used for writing so that the lines are straight and look professional. By right hand clicking the option for the baseline grid will appear. In the process of writing my interview the text tool also helped illustrate the words neatly on the lines of the page.

The components

Subhead : (The different font used for the main body and the subhead). As shown the subhead starts the interview of with some information about the artist.Drop cap: This initially starts the interview of as soon as the artist answers the question . The drop cap is simple not be to take precedence of the page but big enough to be visible to the reader . Pull out quotes: Theses are shown using the colour red which one of the main colours used for the double page spread. There is one at end and the start because it gives my audience the attraction to read and know more.

Page 6: Production log double page spread

To challenge conventions and to make the image more attractive to the audience I firstly decided to add another pull quote that the artist had said and then place over the picture . The pull out quote used is short but a very clique thought that grabs the readers attention. Then to announce what the double page spread is on is imprinted at the top of the page. Attracting my audience immediately to the artist that the interview based upon and conveying how it is an interview which my audience will be more happy to read.

The headline connects to the interview as it defines how the artist has been progressing in her music and her life.

The colours used in the headline are grey and red the first to lines intertwine together whilst the ‘progression’ is in red to define the basis of the story.

The pull out quotes have been used are short and appealing to the audience throughout the interview. They have been shown in red to stand out.

Another pull out quote has been illustrated because it is clique more appealing to audience as that is the first page they will see and be attracted continue reading onwards

As this is the first page the reader will see I have reiterated the artist that is being interviewed which will increase the chances of the my audience wanting to read onwards especially as she is new but popular into the Gospel scene.

The main body of the interview is very simple and organised with just 5 questions and answers this has been done to lead to the reader into wanting to know more but there only being a significant amount to read. Also I have not used the colour red to show difference between the question and answer instead making the questions bold because the pull out quote will not stand out as much.
