  1. 1. Production Entries A2 MEDIA SEAN J CLARK
  2. 2. Production Entry 5 - Footage Due to the significant changes I have made to production as explained in my previous post, had to completely re-think my ideas. My first issue to tackle was the lack of footage, because I had been originally planning to have a second storyline, I had enough footage, but now that I have no second storyline I need to gather enough quality footage in order to recreate a professional stage based performance. As explained in my previous posts, many viewers show prejudice towards stage performance, claiming that they are boring and mediocre, however with the proper research and planning I have become accustomed to theories and techniques I can use to make my production as professional as possible.
  3. 3. Production Entry 6 Transitions Transitions are an effective way to improve continuity throughout my video, however it is difficult to pick and choose the right one and how long and when they should be between shots. Furthermore, not only do transitions add different movement but they also provide a deeper meaning to the shots and help connote the emotion of the music video itself.
  4. 4. Production Entry 7 Lip Syncing One of the hardest challenges I believe any producer would find is lip syncing, in order to create a proficient, high standard music video, my singer/actor must be in time with the song. Adobe Elements has a lot of tools to help me with this challenge, for example time stretch and audio fade both are helpful tools that I have used and will continue to use when attempting to make sure that lip syncing problems become a thing of the past.
  5. 5. Production Entry 8 First Scene I would happily argue that first impressions count, and as such the first 10 15 seconds of my production are at the highest priority. They should include, emotion, good quality camera shots and angles, specific lighting techniques and professional filming techniques such as including zooms, transitions etc As you can see in the included video, my first 10 seconds I think are quite powerful, the use of slow transitions fits well with slow paced tempo of the song, whilst maintaining the right amount of continuity and emotion.
  6. 6. Production Entry 9 Lighting & Colour As explained before my music video is stage based which means that lighting and colour are imperative to highlighting the importance of the singer, as well as implementing emotion and passion, for example towards the beginning of the video there is a slow zoom on the artist face, where the lighting only highlights half of his face, this shot is full of emotion and passion and as such draws the intended audience in.
