HOT REELS
I have chosen to use the company ‘Hot Reels’ as they specialise in the
merchandise of films that are car related and so will be experts when
sorting out particular aspects of my film such as costume, make up, set,
etc.
They also are not a massive multi-millionaire conglomerate company like
Warp Films as I am unable to afford this, they are instead on a slightly
lower scale however, are not an independent company like Coffee
Films.
Realistically, a company like ‘Hot Reels’ would still be unaffordable for me,
so would an independent film company, however from my knowledge
based on other aspects on post and pre production I know that using a
company like Working Title or Warp Films would mean a bigger budget
overall as well as a wider audience and so I have attempted to keep it in
between so that I am not aiming too high nor too low in terms of my
finished piece and the size of my target audience.
ISSUES & WISHES
The main issue when choosing a production company is based on the
budget. Budget can be the rise and fall of many films. Being a 17 year
old student knowing I shall not be making any profit from this film
means I have a low budget and I have accepted this.
However, if I had a larger budget I would be able to have a larger, critically
acclaimed cast which could attract a wide spread audience. I would be
able to employ people to take care of costume and make up to a very
high standard. I have access to professional looking sets such as race
tracks as well as race cars too. I would be able to perform real thrilling
footage such as a crash or explosion too high professional standard. I
would have access to equipment on an entirely different level such as
HD cameras and camera dolly's so I could produce steady fast moving
tracking shots etc.
