EXCEPTIONAL Metals manufactures a widevariety of innovative products using vinyl-coatedmetal. The same vinyl film used in the Duro-Lastroofing membrane is permanently bonded to24-gauge steel. A membrane skirt is then attached,enabling contractors to use familiar installationtechniques to heat weld the complete vinyl-coatedproduct to the installed Duro-Last membrane onthe rooftop.

We stock all 35 24-gauge Kynar® metal finishes listed on our color chart (see page 24). In additionto these standard metals, we also have specializedmetals including:

Please contact your EXCEPTIONAL Metals representative when installing our products in saltenvironments. For our Galvalume warranty to be effective in salt environments or in proximityto bodies of salt water, the following criteria must be met:

• When the installation is near a coastline with surf, the distance from the coastline must bea minimum of 2,800 feet.

• When the installation is near a large bay, the distance from the bay shore must be a minimumof 1,200 feet.

Duro-Last standard colors are produced by AkzoNobel. All standards are formulatedto ensure consistent color and quality. The Trinar system is applied over AkzoNobelpolyester primer in a minimum thickness of 0.2 mil and can be applied to eitherGalvalume® HD Galvanized or Aluminum substrates. All topcoats are a minimum of 0.8 mil of theTrinar color of choice. The reverse side is primer and a washcoat of 0.5 mil total dry film thickness.

Duro-Last offers a mill finished Galvalume with a two-sided, clear chromate/acrylic finish that simulta-neously aids roll forming without the use of lubricants and eliminates unsightly handprints or stainsresulting from handling and storage. The acrylic finish dissolves naturally over a period of time, andwhen left as is, allows for natural and even weathering.
