During abnormal operation, the thermal fuse fails to operate in time, allowing generation of excessive heat at the plastic base. This can lead to a fire and can leave live wires exposed. In the event that the product is operated beyond a certain time, the pot could overflow when it is lifted from the base. There is consequently a risk that the user may be scalded.

This recall involves Cabela’s Electronic Jerky Blaster, which resembles a caulking gun. The product has a black handle, a gold-toned 15” tube that holds the meat with “Cabela’s Power Jerky” written on it and interchangeable tip at the end. The hand-held, battery powered appliance is used for making jerky sticks or strips. It was sold as a set with interchangeable tips and cleaning brushes. The recalled item number IK-540848 can be found underneath the barcode on the cardboard packaging that comes with the product and on the front of the instruction manual.

DESCRIPTION

This recall involves 20, 25, 30, 40, 45, 50, 65 and 70-pint dehumidifiers with brand names Danby, De’Longhi, Fedders, Fellini, Frigidaire, GE, Gree, Kenmore, Norpole, Premiere, Seabreeze, SoleusAir and SuperClima. Recalled model numbers and date codes are listed below. The brand name and the pint capacity are printed on the front of the dehumidifier. The model number and date code are printed on a sticker on the back, front or side of the unit. The dehumidifiers are white, beige, gray or black plastic and measure between 19 and 24 inches tall, 13 and 15 inches wide, and 9 and 11 inches deep.

The dehumidifiers can overheat, smoke and catch fire, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers.

INCIDENTS/INJURIES

The number of reported incidents of overheating dehumidifiers has increased nearly 400 percent from 119 in the original recall (September 2013) to 471 reported incidents. The number of reported fires has increased more than 200 percent from 46 to 121 reported fires. Property damage reports have more than doubled from $2.15 million in the original recall to nearly $4.5 million.

Consumers should immediately turn off and unplug the dehumidifiers and contact Gree to receive a refund.

This recall involves all Paramount Trident Series 2 (UV II) ultraviolet sanitation systems. The sanitation systems are a gray tube that stands 32 inches high by 11 inches in diameter. They are plumbed into the pool’s water circulation pipes and plugged in or hard-wired into an electrical system. The pool’s water runs through the unit and is sanitized by ultraviolet lamps. This is a secondary sanitation system used in conjunction with chemical sanitizers such as chlorine or bromine. “Trident UV II” or “Series 2 Trident Ultraviolet Corporation UV Sanitation System” is printed on a black label on the front of the units. In addition, a silver sticker on the units has the following wording “Paramount Series 2 Ultraviolet Pool Sanitizer System,” “Trident Series 2 Ultraviolet Water Treatment System” or “Trident Ultra UV Series 2 Water Treatment System” and a date code of 9/9/2013 or later. Some date codes consist of a series of letters. Consumers with letters in the date code need to go to www.1paramount.com to determine if their unit is included in the recall.

This recall involves all Wiremold and Plugmold under-cabinet power and lighting strips with part number PX1001. The recalled power strips have four outlets and one fluorescent light and were manufactured from January 2011 through December 2013. From January 2011 through June 2012, the power strip came in a red package with the words “Legrand” and “Under Cabinet Power and Lighting” on the top front and “Wiremold-Series Part PX1001” on the bottom front. From July 2012 to April 2013, the power strip came in a white package with the word “Legrand” on the top front and “Plugmold Power Light,” “Under-Cabinet Power and Lighting” and “PX1001” on the bottom front. The manufacture date code is on the bottom of the recalled power strip in a circle with the year shown as "11," "12" or “13” in the center and an arrow pointing to the number representing the month. Part number PX1001, and UPC number 0 86698 00125 3, are imprinted on the bottom of the power strip.

This recall involves Misty Mate 2.5 ounce high pressure personal misters. The air misters are approximately 8 inches tall and are designed to spray a mist of water for personal cooling. They have a clear plastic cylinder to hold water, blue base and top and a nylon carrying strap attached to the top. The cylinder measures between 1.25- and 1.5-inches in diameter. A horizontal line with the word “fill” is printed on the cylinder.

This recall involves Northstar® liquid fuel lanterns with model number 2000B750 and date codes 10 13 or 11 13. The model number is printed on the base of the lantern, under the lighting instructions. The date code is stamped on the underside of the lantern. A Coleman logo sticker is affixed to the front of the lantern base. The green lanterns measure about 13” tall by 7” wide by 7” deep.

An incorrect gas feed tube was installed on the lantern. When lit, the tube can release too much fuel, posing fire and burn hazards.

The firm has received two reports of lanterns catching fire when fuel unexpectedly leaked from the bottom of the unit. No injuries have been reported.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled lanterns and contact The Coleman Company, Inc. for a replacement lantern.

The Aman Trunk is a wooden storage trunk measuring 38 inches wide by 18 inches high by 18 inches deep. The sides have a natural finish with a deep red painted front panel that is surrounded by decorative metal trim with a metal plate for securing a padlock. There are chains on the interior to keep the hinged dark wood lid attached to the trunk body. The sides of the trunk have metal handles for lifting. The trunk stands on four carved wooden feet. Black or white decorative beads are used as the eyes of the bunny and the center of the yellow flower attachment. The baskets measure 14” high by 9” wide at the widest point. The recalled product is a bronze-colored 3-in-1 flashlight that was distributed as a promotional item for Marlboro brand cigarettes. The flashlight is 4.5 inches long and 1 inch in diameter and has five LED lights. It has a compartment for storing matches and an end cap that has compass in the top. The cap with the compass has a striker pad on the inside. It came with 20 wooden matches and a removable foam insert between the matches and the striker pad.

Matches inside the match holder can ignite when in contact with the striker pad beneath the compass cap, posing burn and injury hazards to consumers.

A clear plastic cover is attached to the board by rivets and a 4-inch long wand with a magnet in one end is attached to the top of the board by a 13.5-inch plastic cord. The face of the board has one jar-shaped cut-out and six cupcake-shaped cut-outs that are colored red, yellow, blue, green, orange and purple. Beneath the cover are about 60 multi-colored metal balls, each 1 centimeter in diameter. Children use the wand to move the balls around the board through channels from the jar to the cupcakes.

The magnet in the wand can detach and the plywood backing can crack and release small metal balls that are sandwiched between the board and a clear plastic cover. INCIDENTS/INJURIES

Discount School Supply has received six reports of the plywood backing cracking and making the small metal balls accessible to children, and two reports of the magnet detaching from the wand. No injuries have been reported.

This recall involves the Ripzone Boys’ Hooligan hoodie jacket. The jackets are 100% polyester waterproof material and have a front zip closure with Velcro adjustable cuffs. There are two zippered pockets on the front of the jacket and a drawstring around the neck of the garment. The jacket is black with a neon blue stripe diagonal across each shoulder and two neon blue stripes around the bottom of the jacket. The jackets were sold in youth sizes small/petite (s/p) and medium (m). RPZN and the size can be found on the label sewn into the seam of the neck area of the garment. The style number 78938 is located on the care label of the jacket which is on the right front, inside lower seam of the jacket.

The jackets have a drawstring around the neck area which poses a strangulation hazard to children. Drawstrings can become entangled or caught on playground slides, hand rails, school- bus doors or other moving objects, posing a significant strangulation and/or entanglement hazard to children. In February 1996, CPSC issued guidelines about drawstrings in children's upper outerwear. In 1997, those guidelines were incorporated into a voluntary standard. Then, in July 2011, based on the guidelines and voluntary standard, CPSC issued a federal regulation. CPSC's actions demonstrate a commitment to help prevent children from strangling or getting entangled on neck and waist drawstrings in upper outerwear, such as jackets and sweatshirts.
