GoWall takes the familiar concept of sticky notes on a

whiteboard and transforms it into a digital experience.

Users create and share interactive online notes that can be

liked, voted upon, organized, grouped, filtered, exported on

demand and much more. GoWall is used by SMB, F500,

and F2000 customers and has received shout-outs in

Entrepreneur, Inc. and Forbes.

Company: GoWall Role: Lead Designer Duration: 5 Years

Highlights of my tenure at GoWall include; (1) creating a

new development approach which led to faster releases,

substantial cost savings and improved team morale, (2)

creating easy to navigate interactive user guides endorsed

by new and existing users, and (3) leading an in-depth,

year-long product redesign that received phenomenal

feedback. Read on to learn about the GoWall redesign..

Meetzee is software I designed to help the average person

run an effective meeting with minimal effort. After

spending thousands of hours researching meetings, diving

into the competitive meeting landscape, conducting

interviews with novice and professional meeting facilitators

across the world, and previously building meeting software,

I took everything I learned and created Meetzee in 2019.

Company: Meetzee Role: Founder / Designer Duration: 1 Year

Meetzee includes a fully prototyped desktop app, mobile

app, and website. With Meetzee, users create a meeting

agenda in advance or on the fly, capture and collate

feedback, assign post-meeting action items and more.

The app features no-touch user upgrade paths so users can

step up from ‘freemium’ to ‘paid’ in order to unlock more

features. Read on to learn how I created Meetzee...

Interviewed over 50 people who run meetings

Analyzed over 200 reviews of meeting software

Read over 100 articles about meetings

When creating Meetzee, I wanted to expand my understanding about meetings. Here’s what I did:

Through research and interviews, I learned that existing meeting solutions fall short…

Web Conferencing

Chat and Instant Messaging are helpful but don’t make an

unproductive meeting productive

Meeting Consultants

Hiring experts may be helpful but using them for every meeting is

expensive and impractical

AI Assistants

Recording and transcribing are helpful but don’t make an ineffective meeting effective

Based upon my research and interviews, I identified three primary user personas. Here is a brief summary:

And by way of analysis, I determined meetings require specific core capabilities to be successful:

They require a purpose and a plan

Average Andy

Role

Andy has no formal training in how to run effective

meetings, reluctantly runs them as ‘part of the job’, and

could greatly benefit from some basic help

Goal

Andy wants an easy way to run better meetings that

produce meaningful results and require little effort from

him or his participants

Professional Paula

Role

Paula knows meetings basics, runs meetings

regularly, and would be open to improving them if there was a way to do so

without much effort

Goal

Paula wants to streamline meeting preparation and

data gathering so meetings are more effective with

minimal time investment

Expert Erin

Role

Erin is a trained, expert facilitator who knows how

to run great meetings and is paid to do so by companies

and organizations that demand results

Goal

Erin wants a powerful way to engage all participants and reduce painful, time-consuming transcription

of meeting data

They require a way to rapidly capture and share input

They require a way to assign next steps

Do-Do-Do-Done is a to-do app I designed to help people

transform their to-dos into dones. Do-Do-Do-Done

combines a clean, simple interface with a robust feature set

that includes the ability to set due dates, reminders, tag

tasks, filter to-do’s and more. Do-Do-Do-Done received

extensive developer interest on Angel.co and is currently

slated to be available for download by the end of 2020.

Company: Do-Do-Do-Done Role: Founder / Designer Duration: 3 Months

Do-Do-Do-Done is unique among my projects because I

wanted to design a to-do app that was both intuitive and

imbued with a clean, Google-inspired look and feel.

Do-Do-Do-Done improves on feature-sets users often

grumble about with existing to-do apps while also creating a

sense of calm so users feel less stressed as they tackle their

to-dos. Read on to learn how I created Do-Do-Do-Done...

Interviewed 10 people who use to-do apps

Analyzed 50 reviews of to-do software

Read 25 articles about to-do software

When creating Do-Do-Do-Done, my first step was to learn more about existing to-do apps:

Through research and reading reviews, I learned existing to-do apps fall short in a few areas…

Challenging Filters

The way filters are laid out –when available – is often

challenging and/or unintuitive

Busy Interface

Many to-do apps serve up a busy interface that can be feature filled but also overwhelming

Sub-Par Reminders

Non-existent or difficult-to-use reminder option that notifies

users of upcoming tasks

Based upon my research and interviews, I identified three primary user personas. Here is a brief summary:

And by way of analysis, I determined to-do apps require specific capabilities to be successful, including:

They require a clean and intuitive interface

Capable Cam

Role

Cam admits he’s super disorganized but is smart

enough to know organizing and prioritizing to-dos will

help him be more successful

Goal

Cam is keenly aware he will accomplish more of his

goals if he finds a way to create and complete tasks

Busy Barbara

Role

Barbara does her best to get tasks done but is so busy with work and family she frequently misses to-dos

because of overwhelm

Goal

Barbara wants to find a way to stop missing or forgetting

important, mission-critical family and work to-dos

Taskmaster Tom

Role

Tom does a decent job getting tasks done but relies on memory or hand-written lists because existing to-do

apps are too much work

Goal

Tom is open to a convenient and easy way to create and knock out tasks as long as it

requires little to no effort

They require an easy way to set reminders

They require useful filter and search capabilities

Eat Green was founded by two remarkable women on a

mission to help busy travelers easily find and order plant-

based food at Airports. The Eat Green App lets users select

an airport, browse venues and menus, and order vegan and

vegetarian meals ready to pick up at their convenience. I’m

thrilled I had the opportunity to collaborate with such

conscious co-founders to create an interactive prototype.

Company: Eat Green Role: Lead Designer Duration: 8 Weeks

Eat Green was fun and challenging because it placed a

predominant focus on engaging images - for airport and

venue selections – rather than text heavy interactions.

Another consideration we built in was a bit of future

proofing in the sense that as Eat Green expands its plant-

based offerings beyond airports, an additional ‘select

venue’ can easily be included without requiring redesign.

Interviewed the Eat Green co-founders

Analyzed reviews of potential competitors

Created list of potential competitors

The Eat Green co-founders know their users and market so I focused on potential competitors:

Through research and reading reviews, I learned plant-based food apps often fall short in these areas:

Inability to Order

Many plant-based food apps help people find food, but do not

offer an ability to order food

Dated Interface

With rare exception, many plant-based food apps look antiquated

and can be challenging to use

Sub-Par Search

Most plant-based food apps can’t search across different

point-of-sale systems

Based upon my research and interviews, I identified three primary user personas. Here is a brief summary:

And by way of analysis, I determined the Eat Green app would benefit from specific features, including:

Ability to easily browse and place orders

Gluten-Free Faye

Role

Faye is both vegetarian and gluten-free. She’s working on becoming fully plant-

based but right now staying gluten-free is a top priority

Goal

Faye wants an easy way to broaden her plant-based options and avoid gluten reactions when traveling

Selective Sam

Role

Sam isn’t strictly vegetarian or vegan but eats plant-based when out because

he doesn’t eat animal products of unknown origin

Goal

Sam wants to avoid eating factory farmed meat and

instead eat primarily plant-based when traveling

Plant-Based Bella

Role

Bella is entirely plant-based, but still struggles to easily find and order plant-based food out - especially when

traveling for work

Goal

Bella wants a fast way to discover – and order – new plant-based options so her food is ready when she is

Ability to search across airport point-of-sale systems

Ability to filter by vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free
