Overview

Polycom Video Solutions Group announces the availability of RSS 2000 version 3 and a new optional multicast license. With the RSS 2000, anyone can record any event that can be captured by a video conferencing device and stream the event live or on demand to a web browser, desktop, conference room and more.

With the expansion of capabilities in version 3, the RSS 2000 continues to be a market and technology leading video conference capture and streaming device.

Version 3 features:

Support for more languages in the endpoint interface and the web-based management interface. This support is in addition to the already supported languages of English and Traditional Chinese.

Japanese, Korean

Portuguese (Brazilian), Spanish (Latin America)

Russian, German, French, Italian, Norwegian

Usability improvements

Support for recording in a clustered RSS 2000 environment; in addition to the existing clustered RSS 2000 support for endpoint playback

Optional Multicast License Details:

Multicast is now a licensable option in version 3 of the RSS 2000. When a multicast option license is applied to a RSS 2000 deployment, organizations can stream events live in multicast thereby reducing bandwidth load to the network.
