Anritsu Solutions for WiMAX Ubiquitous NetworksWiMAX is a next-generation wireless technology based on the IEEE802.16 standard, supporting faster, larger-capacity, broadband networks. In particular, Mobile WiMAX has faster data speeds than mobile phones, covers a broader area than wireless LAN, and supports communications at several Mbps even while moving at high speed in cars, trains, etc. These advantages are driving progress towards real-world WiMAX testing in Japan and around the world.Anritsu provides test solutions supporting R&D, manufacturing, and maintenance of WiMaX UE, BS, and devices.

MG3700AVector Signal Generator

This GUI-driven PC application software is used to set parameters and generate waveform patterns based on the IEEE802.16e-2005 WirelessMAN-OFDMA MAC/PHY standard.Generated waveform pattern files are downloaded to the MG3700A and used to output WirelessMAN OFDMA modulation baseband signals and RF signals. Some parameters of the DL/UL-MAP and DCD/UCD, etc., MAC management messages can be set. The generated waveform pattern can be used for part* of the IEEE802.16e tests (8.4.13 Receiver Requirement).*: Excludes function tests (Handover, etc.) not done using only signal

generator.

Mobile WiMAX signal can be analyzed by installing the MX269010A Mobile WiMAX Measurement Software in the MS2690A/MS2691A Signal Analyzer.Especially, downlink signal analysis can be automated because allocation settings are read from DL-MAP. Complicated parameter setting can be half-automated, supports one-button-measurement at R&D, warranty, validation and manufacturing. In addition, installing the optional vector signal generator (MS2690A/91A-020) supports both Tx and Rx measurements with one unit. MS2690A/91A-020 waveform patterns can be generated using Mobile WiMAX IQproducer (MX269905A), providing the same performance as the MX370105A (IQproducer for MG3700A).

MA24106AUSB Power Sensor

The MA24106A power sensor is a USB power sensor that elimi-nates the need of a traditional power meter. It is a highly accurate, standalone instrument that communicates with a PC via USB. The power measurement capability of MA24106A is intended to mimic that of a traditional thermal (thermo-electric) power sensor with a wider dynamic range. Therefore, it is ideal for measuring average power of CW, modulated RF waveforms such as WiMAX, 3.5G, and multi-tone signals. In other words, it measures true RMS power regardless of the type of the input signal.

Frequency Range 50 MHz to 6 GHzDynamic Range –40 to +23 dBm

SWR <1.1 (50 MHz to <2 GHz) <1.2 (2 to 6 GHz) Sensor Linearity <3%RF Connector N (m)

• True RMS detection over a 63 dB dynamic range enables accurate CW and modulated power measurements

• Ready for use in a wide variety of applications, including installation and maintenance of base stations, testing of 3.5G and 4G products, cell phones and general purpose RF devices

• High damage power levels and ESD protection provides ruggedness and reliability

• Low current consumption (100 mA) preserves note PC battery life• Eliminating the need for a reference calibrator reduces test time

and handling in production• Light weight, economical and easy to use with a desktop or note PC• One year calibration cycle
