SDNAll ExtremeXOS-based switches are Software Defined Networking (SDN) ready, offering support for industry standard OpenFlow and OpenStack and enabling separation of the network control and data planes with powerful centralized network management. With leading SDN controller partners, Extreme Networks SDN solutions presently run in production networks in a variety of network environments. ExtremeXOS-based switches also allow for integration with the OpenStack open source cloud computing platform for public and private clouds through its Extreme Quantum plugin.

Mobile BackhaulAs powerful new mobile devices drive demand for rich services and increased bandwidth, mobile operators are seeking new opportunities for revenue and efficiency. Ridgeline Network and Service ManagementRidgeline™ is Extreme Networks centralized management platform supporting both Extreme Network switches and Altitude Wireless APs. Ridgeline provides a single unified view into wired and wireless networks to increase management ease and network operations.

As a scalable service management tool, Ridgeline simplifies configuration, provisioning, troubleshooting and status monitoring of IP-based networks and offers a comprehensive set of management applications and time-saving wizards that streamline common tasks. Ridgeline offers intuitive interfaces and reduces the complexity of managing converged networking environments through an open architecture that accommodates multi-vendor, service-rich environments.

Targeted Feature Packs allow network managers to customize Ridgeline for their unique environment. ChaletExtremeXOS provides Chalet, a JavaScript- and web-based GUI that runs in any standards-compliant web browser and offers simplified operation of IP cameras. Chalet enables rapid provisioning of network elements via templates designed for solutions-based usage scenarios, in which switches fulfill a specific role in the network. To simplify initial provisioning, the network manager can preset the switch for a specific role, then complete a detailed configuration if desired. Chalet also provides a task-driven interface where common tasks are streamlined and simplified to reduce errors and increase reliability.
