Updates to PSA Grower Training Curriculum
• PSA Grower Training Curriculum V1.2 will be available later this month– Changes include updated agricultural
water compliance dates, photo replacements, general edits
– Will be equivalent to V1.1, but trainers must include Supplemental Water Slides to address critical changes
• Best if all attendees in the room have the same version

PSA Online Grower Training Course
• 3-week course contains GT Manual content, required discussions, and self-check quizzes
• Currently incorporating FDA edits• Working towards a fall 2019 pilot• Will be available in English and
translated into Spanish• Will meet requirements
of § 112.22(c) and result in anAFDO certificate

• Continue to support PSA Trainers, Lead Trainers, and those interested in becoming PSA Trainers/Lead Trainers− Mentoring, resource development, and offering advanced
training courses
• Continue to support growers in understanding PSR requirements and how to implement practices to reduce microbial risks

• Publish additional peer-reviewed articles to share evaluation data on PSA Training Programs
• PSA is currently funded through 2020 – Continuing to pursue long-term funding opportunities
PSA Curriculum Meets Growers’ Needs(based on two years of evaluation data)
• 95% of growers reported that the level of FSMA PSR information provided in the curriculum materials was sufficient to guide them in implementing regulatory requirements – No significant difference among business size
• 59% of growers attending the PSA Grower Training Course have never previously attended a produce safety training– Previous training was not a significant factor in “course
sufficiency” reporting
