Helped to build a more inclusive and empowered society and to improve the living conditions of the rural population.

In the 80s, research–action processes were initiated on site to devise and test a methodology of intervention.

Innovation processes emerged and were accompanied that allowed the individuals to solve the problems that they found in their daily lives, and their individual and collective capacity to solve them was strengthened.

In San Dionisio the results were encouraging in terms of the solution of the agricultural and livestock problems, but the not so inclusive character revealed weaknesses in terms of improving the human and social capital

Studies were done on the creation of local knowledge. In order to discover how the farmers formed an idea of their

surroundings and how they acted on it, processes were documented through longitudinal studies

have were studied, which allowed the fundamental role they have in the generation of knowledge to be discovered, that permitted the corresponding changes and knowledge to be done.

From that moment PRODESSA sought to know to what extent those characteristics varied in the Nicaraguan rural medium, and what that was due to, how it varied over time, under what circumstances and procedures the relationships were created, how they are maintained and also why and how they would disappear

.

The changes incorporated allow on their part greater

inclusion of the population in the solution of their problems and thus avoid the distortions seen among individuals at the end of the 80s in San Dionisio, in terms of improvements of their human capital and notable improvements of their social capital and particularly structural capital.

In 2004 the UNAN-León presented studies on the act of knowing in the social networks and their methodological reflections.

A training module was prepared that planned a survey about the act of knowing and social networks and observations of professionals, making use of the methodology of PRODESSA under real conditions. Because the places of intervention were too far away for the students of León, the decision was made to intervene in peasant zones closer to the city. They began in Chacaraseca the beginning of 2009

At the same time the same course was taught in the majors of agronomy and psychology in the regional school of Matagalpa of the UNAN Managua.

Renewing the work of teaching under the same modality as with the UNAN León was planned to be done in the majors of the faculty of Matagalpa of the UNAN Managua, and opening a intervention project in a closer territory in 2014.

Contribute to the formation of professionals and university students, teaching knowledge and use of methodological tools designed by PRODESSA, in order to help obtain the economic and social changes desired by the population.

Form and/or develop individual and collective capacities of the peasant families that would allow them to face the current and future difficulties and thus improve their conditions of life in a lasting way
