Processing of Lean Grade and Urban Ores (Mineral Processing, Recycling, Energy & Environment)
January 20-22, 2015CSIR-NML, Jamshedpur, India
in association with
The Indian Institute of Metals, Jamshedpur Chapter
Metals and alloys have played a significant role since the ancient civilization to the
present day high technology age. Rapid economical growth, technological innovation,
increased needs of society and industrialization have ensured the increased demand of
metals. This results in concerns over sustainability because of the scarcity of natural and
high grade resources. On the other hand, waste management is also one of the key
problems of modern society because of the ever expanding volume and complexity of
discarded domestic and industrial wastes containing various metals. Therefore, the
immediate emphasis is to develop suitable technologies for the utilization of lean grade
ores, dumped ores, fines, slime, mine water, urban ores viz. industrial solid/ liquid,
electronic, municipal wastes etc. through energy efficient and environment friendly
processes with a view to meet the potential future requirements of various industries.
The conference will provide a global forum and unique opportunity to exchange and
discuss scientific information, technological innovations and applications amongst
experts and practitioners from different disciplines viz. industries, R&D
establishments, academia on a common platform for exploitation of lean grade ores, fines
and urban ores considering the challenges and problems.
Bring together global experts and practitioners from interdisciplinary areas,
industries, R&D establishments, academia as well as students on a common platform
for updating and sharing their experiences and knowledge to exploit lean grade and
urban ores.
Give an impetus to develop new technologies/processes to exploit lean grade ores,
fines and urban ores considering the challenges and problems.
