Theodor Seuss Geisel influenced children and adults to enjoy the whimsical aspects of life. We became intrigued with the children’s author and artist, Dr. Seuss because of the pure essence of his work and his endearment for life. We have read his books since we were young children and fell in love. As young children, we remembered celebrating his birthday and dressing up in the “Cat in the Hat” hat. The vivid colors found in the his oil paintings and illustrations brings joy to our hearts as well as many others. The more we researched the Seussian works the more inspired we became.

We orchestrated our research from numerous websites and many of Dr. Seuss’s greatest works. My partner and I assembled almost all the information from internet sources. We read articles, books, interviews, and watched videos, all pertaining to Theodor Geisel. The different sources presented us with newspaper articles that taught us how people perceived Theodor in those times. To obtain a better understanding of his works, we read many of our favorite children’s books authored by him. This research made it possible to form our website.

My partner and I loved the idea of having our own website, where anyone around the world could learn about Dr. Seuss’s impact on society. Since Dr. Seuss’s works were extremely colorful and artistic, in his honor we followed that example. The wacky colors brought new life to the project. The fonts type and sizes allows the reader to understand the words while not being boring. All the fonts are in many different colors as well to match the pictures that they describe. In the website, we have many tabs to make it simpler to navigate through the the leadership and legacy sections. We wanted to incorporate a cheerful element while still keeping Dr. Seuss’s leadership and legacy serious.

Our website incorporates ideas of Theodor’s leadership toward humanity. He wanted everyone to follow their dreams and to love reading while he was still alive. Leadership turned to legacy after his death in 1991 but Dr. Seuss still encourages children to be original and unique through his extraordinary books. The website will show you how the Dr. Seuss, we all love, actually lead many people during and after his life. We try to capture these wonderful elements in our website.
