Mr. N. V. MaratheSr. Dy. Director & Head, Powertrain Engineering, ARAI, Pune. He has worked extensively in design, performance up-grada� on and emission reduc� on projects pertaining to engines of large varie� es applicable to 3- wheeler, passenger car, u� lity vehicle, light & heavy commercial vehicle, tractor and genset. He specializes in the area of cylinder head and port design for diesel engines, valve train / crank train design and combus� on tuning specifi cally related to emission reduc� on. Mr. Swaran Singh SandhuDy. Director & Head, Vehicle Evalua� on Laboratory, ARAI. He has been associated with automobile industry for the last 32 years. He has represented ARAI at various forums, viz. UNDP, BIS, AISC, CMVR – Standing Commi� ee & World Forum, WP29 ac� vi� es. Mrs. R. H. UrdhwaresheDy. Director & Head, Homologa� on & Management Regula� on Dept., ARAI, Pune and is responsible for Vehicle Type Approval cer� fi ca� on. She is the Member Secretary to important na� onal commi� ees related to standardiza� on and type approval cer� fi ca� on, such as AISC (Automo� ve Industry Standard Commi� ee) and CMVR-TSC (Central Motor Vehicles Rules- Technical Standing Commi� ee). Under her leadership and direc� on, several technical expert groups work towards formula� on of na� onal automo� ve standards. Mr. A. V. MannikarDy. Director & Head, Safety & Homologa� on Laboratory and Passive Safety Laboratory, ARAI, Pune. He has 25 years of experience in Automo� ve R&D mainly in Data Acquisi� on, Analysis & System Evalua� on for Safety & Reliability. He represents India on Passive Safety at UNECE. He was responsible for building state of the art Bungee Sled Facility at ARAI for Evalua� on of Seats & Safety Belts. Mr. H. A. NakhawaSr. Assistant Director at Emission Cer� fi ca� on Laboratory, ARAI, Pune. He is a post Graduate in Heat Power Mechanical Engineering from University of Poona and has been working with ARAI for more than 27 years in various capaci� es. He has been involved in func� ons like establishment of fi rst emission regula� on and its further developments, its valida� on and implementa� on in country, cer� fi ca� on and homologa� on. He has worked for the establishment of centre of excellence with unique and advanced facili� es at iCAT, Manesar under NATRiP project. He is ARAI principle member on BIS-TED2 technical commi� ees and involved in other commi� ees like TED26, PCD etc for the formula� on of Indian standards and ISO’s. Email ID : [email protected]

Mr. A. A. BadushaSr. Asst. Director, Safety & Homologa� on Laboratory, ARAI, Pune. He has more than 2 decades of experience in the fi eld of vehicle evalua� on for various aspects of road worthiness and CMVR compliance requirements. His current job profi le includes vehicle, component and system level tests and cer� fi ca� on, standard making and an ac� ve member in various Technical Commi� ees like CMVR – TSC, AISC, TED commi� ees of BIS, WP-29 (GRRF) and other Sub-commi� ees of CMVR-TSC. Mr. A. A. DeshpandeSr. Asst. Director, Automo� ve Electronics Laboratory, ARAI, Pune and is responsible for evalua� on of automo� ve electronic embedded systems for EMI/EMC, environmental condi� ons, performance etc. He worked on development of fi rst prototype of electronic engine management system for passenger car and also on development of number of test instrumenta� on development systems / so� ware for automo� ve industry. Mr. B.V. ShamsundaraAssistant Director in Safety & Homologa� on Laboratory at ARAI from 1994. He has completed his M. Sc. Engineering by Research from Na� onal Ins� tute of Engineering college, Mysore and B. E. (Automobile Engineering) in 7th rank from Mysore University in 1992. Presently he is pursuing Ph. D. study. He has worked on various R&D projects like Ergonomic study on Indian driving popula� on, Design and development of ligh� ng and signaling devices and Design and development of ligh� ng and signaling devices. Also, delivered best as a team-member in other projects of planning, execu� on and management.
