• Respect: It is a multi-way street. I will never disrespect you and you will never disrespect me, others, or yourself
• I am your teacher, not your friend. My ONLY goal is help you reach your potential

• Students will be seated and silent by the time the bell rings
• Most days, CNN student news will begin playing at the bell• Students are required to watch CNN student news quietly as there will be a
short quiz on the weeks’ news on Friday

Unpacking Materials for Class
• All materials will be unpacked quietly and ready for use immediately after the bell rings

• Students will not socialize before class starts• Students be preparing for instruction immediately upon entering the
class

Pencil Sharpening
• Students will only sharpen pencil when given permission from Mr. Mitchell
• Students will sharpen their pencil quietly and promptly
• The entire process of sharpening ones pencil should take no longer than 25 seconds

Throwing Away Trash
• Students will only throw trash away when given permission from Mr. Mitchell
• Students will throw trash away quietly and promptly
• The entire process of throwing trash away should take no longer than 10 seconds

Using the Bathroom
• Excessive bathroom breaks take time away from your learning and Mr. Mitchell’s teaching
• Students cannot use the bathroom unless it is an emergency
• Bathrooom breaks are only allowed if they are requested properly, and one signs out properly with Mr. Mitchell in their agenda

*Missing/Absent/Makeup Assignments*
• It is the STUDENT’s responsibility to find out about AND make up any work that for whatever reason was not turned in on time (3 before me)
• Work missed from an excused absent can be turned in the two days after the student returns for full credit • EX: Absent Monday, Return Tuesday, Due Thursday

IF YOU CANNOT RECEIVE THE ASSIGNMENT FROM A FELLOW STUDENT, here is the procedure for requesting assignments:
• 1) Student will see Mr. Mitchell AFTER CLASS or during an agreed upon time• 2) Student will receive their work and complete it ASAP• 3) Student will turn-in their work ASAP to the proper black bin
