There are lots of reasons to do this aside from saving the pennies – you can personalise them to make them more personal to your friends and family, you can add photos of your children or pets and you can have a lot of fun while making your own designs!

HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN CHRISTMAS CARDS

There are several ways you can do this. First of all, you could find some free Christmas card designs online to print at home.

These are ideal if you’re not the best at creative stuff, but even if you are, they could be a good place to start to get the creative juices flowing.

If you prefer however, you can design your own Christmas cards so that they are more personal to you and more personal to the receiver.

If you’re more crafty, you could use your printer to print off some cute little paper craft pieces, like reindeer, snowmen, snowflakes and so on, and can cut them out and stick them down with small foam pads to make 3D crafty Christmas cards.

If you want to make your own Christmas cards from scratch, there are loads of free tutorials on YouTube and other video sites on how to make Christmas cards in Photoshop.

This is great if you’re good with computers and are creative, as you can make completely personalised cards with your own design from scratch. This can be really fun to do if you’ve got the time.

You can also find some cool designs online whereby you can print the design out and cut along some of the lines to make cut-out 3D cards.

Check out this one as an example – if you print a neat design on the front you can cut the shapes out. These can look really beautiful and will seriously impress whoever receives them.

Here you can see how to choose the best printer for your needs, with some information on laser printers, inkjet printers, A3 printers, photo printers and even wireless printers to save having trailing wires about your home or office.
