WES Future Engineers
On Wednesday, November 4, eight WES students had the opportunity to present their engineering problem solving skills
at the GCSD CATE (Career and Technology Education) Expo. All third grade classes participated in a Halloween Treat Toss STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) Challenge with Mrs. Marshall, Elementary Science coach, the previous week. This group of students did additional research relating to the STEM Challenge and spoke knowledgably about their learning experience. We are proud of all of our engineering dolphins!

Season’s Gr(EAT)ings Overeating spikes for a lot of us during the “holiday season”—which now starts in November and runs into January! At the BIG events, try to eat slowly and enjoy you r food, and be aware of the steady unconscious
snacking that also spikes during these 10 weeks.

3rd Grade Anti-Bullying Superhero Poster Contest Winners
October was “Bullying Prevention Month.” The 3rd grade S.P.I.C.E. Club began the observance with an anti-bullying as-sembly program presented by “Omegaman.” Omegaman trav-els to schools across the United States teaching students about bullying prevention and character education. His message to students this year was “Be a H.E.R.O.” The 3rd graders were in-vited to enter a poster contest to create a superhero whose job is to help stop bullying. The winners are: 1st Place—Ireland White; 2nd Place—Emmie Bess; 3rd Place—Kayla Sheedy; Honor-able Mention—Justin Steros, Iliana Intrieri, and Matthew Henry. Congratulations! Remember: Everyone can be a H.E.R.O. when you help everyone respect others, be a dream maker, and make good choices. Joanne Foster Guidance Counselor/S.P.I.C.E. Club Advisor
