Message From Our Exalted Ruler
As we go about our daily lives, we have the good fortune to interact with many different people from many different backgrounds. The diversity of our society enriches each of us. As Elks, we seek out those with similar beliefs; patriotism, service, charity, and faithful-ness. With all that we have in common, even Elks are ex-tremely diverse. I challenge all members of Lodge #643 to in-troduce yourself, and have a conversation with a fellow Elk you do not know yet. Or even better, a new member! Learn something new about your brothers and sisters. By doing so you can grow in your understanding of not only what makes us the same but also what makes us different. Differences can make it hard to understand people some-times, it can challenge our own beliefs. We won't always agree or get along. When these times occur it is best to re-fer back to the motto of our order; The faults of our mem-bers we write upon the sand, their virtues on the tablets of love and memory. Brian Paquette
Exalted Ruler 951-415-2297

Greetings Elkdom, In the month of June every lodge observes June 14th as Flag Day, a tradition in which the Elks began in 1907. The American Flag is a symbol of patriotism and was officially declared Flag Day on June 14th by President Truman back in 1949. The Elks are a patriotic organization and aspire to capture the spirit of American patriotism by flying of the flag, saluting, and reciting the pledge of allegiance at all our meetings. The American Flag is revered in Elkdom. The Elks also demonstrate their patriotism by supporting our local veterans through several ongoing programs. The flag is a symbol of Freedom, Liberty, and Justice for all. Check your bulletin for Flag Day event.

Esteemed Loyal Knight
Hello Fellow Elks, Half of the year is over! Welcome June, the gateway to summer. We get to enjoy warmer weather, longer days and something most of us couldn’t do last year, getaways and vacations. Slowly but surely restrictions have been lifted and it feels awesome to be able to enjoy all of the things we were not able to do in 2020. I hope you all are living your best lives and don’t ever forget, health and safety for everyone is still the priority. Have fun this June, take care! Lilly Allala

Elk of the Month
Our Elk of the month is Ken Campbell. Although only an Elk for just over 6 months Ken has become one of our most helpful volunteers. He cashiers twice a month and works on one of the Tuesday night cook teams. Other times when he is down at the Lodge he frequently asks how he can help and jumps in where he
may be needed. He regularly attends Lodge meetings and has provided great feedback during them.
Thank you Ken!
Officer of the Month
Our Officer of the month for May is Jim Madison.
Jim is a new Trustee this year and his energy, enthusi-asm and knowledge is a great addition to the team, Jim has already gotten his hands dirty helping out with re-pairs and maintenance around the Lodge and came down extra early on Mothers Day to help cook and to serve all
of our awesome moms and their families that day. Jim welcome to the team and I am glad to have you!
Welcome New Riverside Elk Members!
Henry and Carol Tong Honored by PER Association
The Lodge Past Exalted Ruler Association, on behalf the Lodge, established a Lifetime Achievement
Award in 1997. It was first presented to Paul Glab on the occasion of his 80th birthday after five dec-
ades of dedicated service to the Riverside Elks Lodge. There can be only one Elk of the year, selected
by the Exalted Ruler, but there may be more than one special member who deserves recognition. It
was for that purpose that the Lodge PERs established the Paul Glab Award. Elks selected for this
award have contributed time, talent, expertise, money, and materials to the lodge over many years,
most over multiple decades.
This year, The PERs honored two individuals, Henry and Carol Tong, who are long overdue for recogni-
tion. They have contributed their time, leadership, labor, and financial resources for benefit of others
for over two decades. They have participated on or led the Scholarship Committee, the Drug Aware-
ness Committee, Veterans Committee,
been on their hands and knees scrubbing
the kitchen and other cleanup activities ,
served meals to Lodge members and to
Veterans, contributed funds to help keep
the Lodge running during the Covid shut-
down, and contributed to ENF and the
Purple Pig. Henry and Carol have exhibit-
ed the selfless dedication to the Lodge over
many years which exemplifies the Cardi-
nal Principles of our Order; Charity, Jus-
tice, Brotherly Love, and Fidelity. The
PERs are delighted to present this singu-
lar honor to these deserving Elks.
