Interpreters are people that enhance the quality of the recreational experience of the visitor and inspire greater appreciation of the resource in an enjoyable manner.

Let the Journey Begin!!!

Greetings Interpreters and Future Interpretaires

Basic principles guide us in the right direction to produce and present good quality interpretation. Some of those basic principles will be presented to you while playing “Who Wants To Be An Interpretaire.”

This is just the beginning of a fun-filled journey as an Interpretive Park Ranger. After this, take the knowledge you have gained, build on it, enhance it, and create the spark in others.

Each player should have the following: Lifeline Cards: Survey Says, Ask a Friend, and 50/50 Answer Letters: A-D

A player can use their lifelines at any time throughout the game. More than one lifeline can be used on the same question.

The lifelines are: Survey Says – At this lifeline you will be able to view a percentage table rating the different possible answers. Ask a Friend – At this lifeline you can ask someone how they would answer the question. 50/50 – At this lifeline two of the possible answers are taken away.

Page 58: Principles are the lifeline to good Interpretation · Levels Level 5 Interpretaire Level 4 Smokey Bear Level 3 Tree Hugger Level 2 Yogi Bear Level 1 Fern Feeler Game 1 2 3 4 5 6 7

All players must answer the question at the same time by holding up one of their answer cards.

You must answer the question correctly to advance to the next level.

If you answer the question incorrectly you must proceed to the Ask a Friend lifeline area to assist with that lifeline.

After a question and possible answers are read the players can proceed to the appropriate area to use their lifeline or lifelines. Players must turn in their lifeline card to the person overseeing the lifeline before returning to their seat.
