Principals Report – Week 6, Term 4
Recent Bushfire Activity
Last week was an exceptional week for everyone with thethreat of bushfires and many major fires burning out of controland threatening lives, animals and property throughout NSW.Thankfully at this time the threat has been reduced in someareas. Other communities/areas are still on alert.
Staying up to date with local information
It is important to stay up to date with what is happening in yourlocal area. We recommend:
* Installing or updating the “Fires Near Me NSW” app onyour phone to ensure that it is latest version* monitoring local media (TV, ABC radio)* checking the NSW RFS website<https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/fire-information/fdr-and-tobans> or calling RFS on 1800 679 737
Thank you to our immediate Mullaway community andsurrounding area for taking on board the recommendations ofauthorities and remaining calm, safe and indoors last week.
Our deepest thoughts are with those who have suffered anyloss during this difficult time. For those who are helping to fightthe fires day and night, we thank you.
Our Stage 3 Canberra/Sydney excursion was cancelled due tothese fires and major road closures.
Mr Cheers, Mrs Dibb and Mr Skinner have been working hardto organise an alternative excursion to be able to visit Sydney.

Kindy
Kindy 2020 had their first orientation day on Thursday,November 7th. By all accounts is was a fantastic day!
The initiative is designed to ensure a positive transition toschool. Children who experience a positive transition to schoolare more likely to feel comfortable, relaxed and motivated tolearn. This helps them form positive relationships with others, both children and teachers, and develop a sense of belongingwithin the school.
It’s important to remember that the transition to school processis not just about the first day of school, but also the periodleading up to it.
Our Kindy 2020 orientation is between 9:30am and 1:00pmeach Thursday in November.
