Thankfully at this time the threat has been reduced in some areas. Other communities/areas are still on alert. Staying up to date with local information It is important to stay up to date with what is happening in your local area. We recommend: * Installing or updating the “Fires Near Me NSW” app on your phone to ensure that it is latest version * monitoring local media (TV, ABC radio) * checking the NSW RFS website <https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/fire-information/fdr-and- tobans> or calling RFS on 1800 679 737 Thank you to our immediate Mullaway community and surrounding area for taking on board the recommendations of authorities and remaining calm, safe and indoors last week. Our deepest thoughts are with those who have suffered any loss during this difficult time. For those who are helping to fight the fires day and night, we thank you. Our Stage 3 Canberra/Sydney excursion was cancelled due to these fires and major road closures. Mr Cheers, Mrs Dibb and Mr Skinner have been working hard to organise an alternative excursion to be able to visit Sydney. Stage 3 parents have been given information on the new excursion which takes place on the weekend (weather and fire threats pending). The new excursion dates are Sunday 24th November. Meeting at school 5.30am for a 6.00am departure for Sydney. Returning Tuesday 26th November by 7pm. Intensive Swimming Intensive swimming starts Monday 25th November and runs for Ten days, finishing on Friday 6th December. All Year 2 attend with other selected Primary students. Please have your money, towel, swimmers, goggles, rash shirts and sunscreen ready. Woolgoolga High School Musical Woolgoolga High School has invited Mullaway students to watch their performance of ‘Madagascar” on Wednesday 27th November. A note went home yesterday to all Years 3 to 6 and interested children will be able to attend. Places are limited as we will only take one bus. First in best dressed rule applies. Kindy Kindy 2020 had their first orientation day on Thursday, November 7th. By all accounts is was a fantastic day! The initiative is designed to ensure a positive transition to school. Children who experience a positive transition to school are more likely to feel comfortable, relaxed and motivated to learn. This helps them form positive relationships with others, both children and teachers, and develop a sense of belonging within the school. It’s important to remember that the transition to school process is not just about the first day of school, but also the period leading up to it. Our Kindy 2020 orientation is between 9:30am and 1:00pm each Thursday in November. 1

Principals Report – Week 6, Term 4

Recent Bushfire Activity

Last week was an exceptional week for everyone with thethreat of bushfires and many major fires burning out of controland threatening lives, animals and property throughout NSW.Thankfully at this time the threat has been reduced in someareas. Other communities/areas are still on alert.

Staying up to date with local information

It is important to stay up to date with what is happening in yourlocal area. We recommend:

If your child is late without a Parent or written reason, your childwill come home with a printed late slip (used to be a pale greentyped note). Please add a reason, sign and return to your child’sclass teacher.

WOOLGOOLGA ROTARY’S MONSTERMONTHLY AUCTION

1st Saturday each month.

The Rotary Club of Woolgoolga holds their monster auction onthe first Saturday of every month (except January). A significantportion of the funds raised goes to supporting programs forlocal school students.

Head down to the Rotary compound and shed behind theWoolgoolga CWA building, beside the Diggers RSL club, andcheck out the bargains available.

Smaller items will be on sale from 10am, with the larger itemsto be auctioned off from 1pm.
