1 PRINCIPAL’S REPORT Leadership Speeches 2018 This week, our Year 5 candidates for School Leadership positions 2018, (pictured below) presented their speeches to the whole school. All students presented with confidence and articulation as they strived for positions on the Student Leadership team. I would like to congratulate all of our brave Year 5 students who completed their leadership speech. All staff and students commented on how difficult the decision was and recognised that all students would make positive school role models. The standard was outstanding and a voted decision will be announced at our 2017 Presentation Day on Tuesday 12th December 2017, at 10am. End of 2017! Friday 15th December 2017 This is the final school day of the 2017 school year. Please encourage your child to continue to come to school and participate in end of year activities. It is a legal requirement that students attend until the last day of the school year and any absence needs to be explained via our App or a note. Over the next 2 weeks, there are many exciting activities taking place which we will report on in the final newsletter for 2017, in week 10. Volunteers Morning Tea Thursday 14/11/17, 11:30 – 12:30 A morning tea is being hosted, courtesy of the Wangi Wangi PS teaching staff, to say thank you to all the valuable members of our community that contribute to our school. Volunteers are an essential element in making school, home and the wider community a connected place for students to attend. At Wangi Wangi PS, we are incredibly fortunate to have many volunteers come to our school each week and offer a range of assistance in the operation of the school and teaching of our students. If you can make it, we warmly invite any volunteer to come to school and enjoy some time having morning tea. This is just a small way of showing our appreciation for the invaluable contribution volunteers make at our school. CAPA GROUPSYr 5/6 Gardening with Miss BaillacheThe 5/6 class have recently been doing gardening during CAPA groups. We’ve been shovelling mulch, growing mushrooms and more. We made our own food boat with some ingredients from the garden. The boats were yummy and we made them out of sprouts, cucumber, cheese, tomato, mint and creamed corn with a bit of salt and pepper. The 5/6 students had a lot of fun and wish to do it again. All in all, it was a great experience and certainly was extremely fun.By Dylan Salter and Tom Bevan.
