The global pandemic that is currently impacting our country is obviously having a profound effect on our school. That said, our staff are incredibly excited to be moving into Phase 1 and welcoming our students back to school. Phase 1 – Managed Student Return to School From next week (week 3), students will be gradually phased back to school to attend one day per week. This is to ensure schools manage the number of students on site each day and limit attendance to be no more than around 25%. Schools are instructed to ensure appropriate social distancing practices are maintained both for students, staff and parents. To manage this, when students return on their scheduled day, students will be organised into groups less than 12 and spend the day attending explicit lessons on English, Numeracy and another extra curricula area. Below is a table for Phase 1 and a list of teachers who will be working with our students. Supervision for students of essential workers will continue to be provided. On most days this supervision may be by a casual teacher, to allow classroom teachers time to be available for online learning. Staff are also working on a roster for onsite and at home work days to ensure that WWPS adheres to mandatory social distancing procedures for everyone. Google Classrooms As learning has continued to be completed in a different mode in the recommencement of school for Term 2, I would like to congratulate all students for how hard they have continued to work at home. Of course, this has only been made possible through the support from parents/carers and the dedication of our great teachers. I am incredibly impressed with the quality of the work that is being submitted and the creativity of our students. I want to thank all of the amazing parents and caregivers who are working with their children at home. New Learning Environments When students return for Phase 1 learning, they will be moving into the brand new learning spaces. We made the decision to wait until all students could have access to these spaces and spend time in their classes, with their class teacher, orientating themselves within the rooms. Staff are looking forward to showing students how the new spaces function and operate to enhance their engagement in their learning. Tim Lewis

KINDERGARTEN YR K/1 YR 1/2

Kindergarten have been doing an AMAZING job with learning from home. I absolutely LOVE seeing all of the work and photos that our AWESOME kindy parents are sending through to me. Thank you to all of our kindy parents and carers who are helping our students learn from home. Without you sitting by their side and working with them they can’t continue to learn. YOU ARE SUPERSTARS!

K1B are on their wayLearning online each and every dayReading, Writing and Maths we can still all doMiss Baillache is so proud of her cherubs it’s true!

With regular tasks set each day, K1B are doing a fantastic job accessing their online learning and uploading their work for me to see :) Kindergarten students got creative making their family tree for a History task and Year 1 have been doing a fantastic job completing spelling tasks using the Sound Waves program and daily writing activities. Listening to students read on PM eCollection is a definite highlight and a big thank you to parents and carers during this time.

We are so impressed with the way that our students and their families have embraced learning at home over the past few weeks! Many of our students are recording themselves reading so that we can listen to them and submitting quality work on Google Classroom. We also love hearing about and seeing photos of the fun that our students are having with their families. They are lucky kids! We miss them all very much and can’t wait to start teaching and learning with them in our new learning spaces very soon.

YR 2/3 YR 3/4 YR 5/6Hello 2/3 students and families. Mrs R and Mrs T are very proud of how you have adapted to the many changes and challenges you have faced in the past few weeks. Hopefully it won’t be too long before we are able to get back to normal lessons. We would like to share a few photos of how you have been working so well from home.

While there has been a need to implement a number of changes to our normal classroom routine, learning has continued with a consistent approach in Year 3/4. They have been doing amazing quality work and I am so proud of their approach to the online and distant learning. From their research assignments on an Australian landmark, to their novel study on Fantastic Mr Fox and their daily learning tasks. They are always busy completing work and I am extremely proud of their efforts. Keep up the fantastic work!

Stage 3, what an incredible job each and every one of you are doing, accessing online learning through our Google Classroom. I am so pleased to see the quality of work being turned in and the use of feedback to improve work has been wonderful. Thank you to parents/caregivers too, I appreciate all the support you have given me and your children during this time.
