ENROLMENT

As on date (21 Aug, 2017), the borne strength of the school is 2576

students.

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS

Round – I Assessment

The evaluation of the first round of the Weekly Cycle Test / Periodic

Test-I in respect of Primary classes concluded on 26 Jul, 17 and on 31

July, 25 July and 17 July, 17 for Middle, Secondary and Sr Secondary

School respectively.

The Second round of Weekly Tests / Periodic Test-II for the Primary

Wing began on 01 Aug,17, and for Cls XI & XII on 24 July and 10 July, 17

respectively.

Monthly Assignments

With a view of recapitulate the lessons taught, assignments were

given to all students of primary classes for the month of July and

August 2017.

Coaching in various Sports and Games

Is held regularly. Regular Mass PT and Stretch Time for Primary and

senior school students is being held as per the schedule. Sports Trials

for selection of school teams (Primary & Sr School) in various games

and sports were held under the supervision of the Sports Director and

the Physical Education Department of the school.

Physical Fitness Programme for session 2017-18 is underway.

Inspection of Note Books (CW & HW)

has been carried out by the respective HMs.

Weight of the School Bag (Classes I – VIII)

has been monitored on a fortnightly basis by the concerned teacher-

in-charges under the supervision of HMs.

Time Table is being strictly adhered to.

The Common Proficiency Tests for Maths and English

for Classes V & VII was held on 28 April, 2017 and 14 July, 2017

respectively.

Online Diagnostic Unit Assessment Examination

for Class-VIII (Science) was successfully conducted on 10 & 11 Aug, 2017 by

Kyoshi Education.

Java Coder ProgrammeA pilot project on Java Programming is to be initiated for the students of

Class-VII in 2nd term. Presently, trials are held in the lab to check the

technical requirements for the successful launch of project in the month of

October, 2017.

Centre for Scholastic IntegrationSpecial efforts are being taken to integrate the students enrolled in CFSI with

the mainstream classes.

1. The session began with a review of all the diagnostic records of children

enrolled with CFSI. The parents of children with special needs were

guided to get a review and psychological reassessment were carried

out for the purpose of registration in CFSI and CBSE registrations for

students of Classes IX and XII.

2. Regular behavior modification sessions were held for students of

Classes I-V by the Pr. School Special Educator.

3. Educational Assessment of Pre Primary children to identify scholastic

lags was also carried out by the Special Educator (Primary Wing).

4. The school as a proactive step to reach out to students with special

needs and to instill feeling of empathy and self less service amongst its

students has started an initiative to create a data bank of children

willing to act as SCRIBES for students of Classes IX – XII enrolled with

CFSI. As on date, the school as 15 volunteers to act as Scribes.

PTM.

PTM for Round-I / Periodic Test-I for Cls Pre Primary to XII was held on 05

Aug, 17. The average attendance of the parents was 90% (approx.). The Result

of the Round-I/Periodic Test-I Assessment for Classes I – XII has been

uploaded on the Parent Portal.

5. Round-I PTM for Classes I-X was held on 5th August, 2017 wherein the

parents were apprised the current level performance of children and

specific strategies were shared to enhance the reading skills.

6. For the CFSI students of Class-VI, ‘Jodo- Gyaan’ activity was attempted in

Mathematics to enhance the skills of addition and subtraction.

CBSE Results.

The results of the AISSCE (Cl XII) and AISSE (Cl X) held in Mar, 17 were declared

in the month of May, 2017. Since then, a detailed analysis of the result has

been circulated to all members. However, a brief report is reproduced

hereunder for easy reference.

Class XII

• Out of the total 140, students who appeared, all 140 were placed in the first

division.

• Kushagra Singh (XII) topped the Science Stream with an aggregate of

97% marks.

• Niyati Vohra (XII) & Sandali Negi (xii) topped the Commerce Stream with

Kushagra Singh (XII), the school topper was felicitated by District Officials in a

glittering award ceremony held at Indira Gandhi Kala Kendra, Sector – 5, Noida on 06

June, 2017 and received a Trophy, Certificate and a Chrome Book from the District

Magistrate, Shri N P Singh of Gautam Budh Nagar.

ATAL Tinkering LabThe first interactive session of ATL of the school rolled out on 05 Aug, 2017 wherein

more than 100 students along with Science and IT faculty understood the objectives of

the ATL, its components and work methodology. The workshop was conducted by the

faculty from Stem Robotics. The school has procured the equipment for functioning of

the lab, the calendar for activities has been drawn out and all schools (Govt. & Private)

are being invited (once a week) to the lab for participating in the desired activities. The

establishment of ATL Lab in the school premises is a structural reform bidding good bye

to traditional experimentation and will bring in radical change and lay a strong

foundation for generating an innovative society.

Besides the calendar of activities drawn by the school, other issues of the nation

i.e. Reforms in Agricultural productivity, Water Management, Problems involving

sanitation will be dealt with by the Atal Lab of the school.

Also, with an aim of creating an Innovative Ecosystem in the country, India Stem

Foundation supporting the Atal Innovation Mission, who has signed a Statement

of Intent (SOI) with NITI Aayog has selected the school for further support. ISF

will be providing DIY (Do It Yourself) kits to the school. These kits will be used

by the students from Class-IV onwards to inculcate scientific temperament and

hands on learning experience.

Skill Development Programme40 students from Classes VI-VIII have enrolled for Skill Development classes

(Professional Cooking, Advance Painting, Anchoring, Software & Application

Development) the classes for which are held on working Saturdays of each

month.

Internship Report

The Psychology students of Class-XII interned at the Institute of Mental Health in

Moolchand Hospital during the summer vacation. The programme included the

emerging socio-legal framework for the future of Psychology, mental health practice

and interdisciplinary approaches.

Shubham Anand (XII), an aspiring photographer interned under OM Digital Studio

based in New Delhi.

Sheetal Chatiwal (XII) and Sanya Prasad (XII) interned at Pearl Academy during the

summer break. Both aspire to have a career in Fashion Designing and hence opted

for a product designing internship.

Chetna Arora (XII) interned at Edcams which enhanced her skills of time

management, multitasking, documentation, formal working and team building.

British CouncilMs Sabari Maitra, ISA Co-ordinator of the school has

successfully completed 02 online courses on ‘Education

for Global Citizenship’ and ‘Inter – Cultural Global

Awareness’ under the aegis of British Council, Skill

Development, online courses by securing 100% marks.

Endangered Species (ISA Activity)As part of ISA Activity, a Skype call was executed between the Primary Wing of BBPS, Noida

and Beaconsfield Upper Primary School, Melbourne, Australia on 09 May, 2017. The session

served as a platform to exchange ideas between the cultures of 2 countries. The Art teacher,

Mr. Niladri Das gave live demonstration on Mask Making using the Gong Art, a tribal art form

of Madhya Pradesh, India. The theme of the activity was Zoo Crew- A Rendezvous with

Endangered Species. The students prepared beautiful masks of tiger the National as well as

Endangered animal of India using the Gond Art form. Students of Classes I-III made beautiful

masks of Endangered animals of different countries like India, Bhutan, Australia and Sri Lanka.

The Enigmatic World of Dolls (ISA Activity)The Pre Primary Wing of the School integrated the theme internationalism into

the ongoing curriculum, by organizing an activity “The Enigmatic World of

Dolls”. The dressing up of the dolls event held in the Pre Primary courtyard on

05 Aug, 2017 saw very much the dedicated involvement of parents.

Alumni ActivitiesThe web portal of Alumni Association of Bal Bharati Public School, Noida

(http://alumni.bbpsnoida.com) was officially launched on 28 July, 2017 by the School

Principal Mrs Asha Prabhakar amidst much funfare.

So far, 295 Alumni have registered on the portal.

The objective of the Alumni Association is to help the school graduates stay connected

to the alma mater, whether it is school events, meeting their teachers or guiding the

students, just an excuse to come back to the school for a reunion. The association

intends to guide the youngsters in career choices, provide them with internships etc.

As a part of continuous connect, a friendly Basketball match was organized between

the alumni and the school team on the school Basketball court on 29 July, 2017. The

school team emerged winners and the match helped to create nostalgic moments.

Another Football match was played between the Alumni and the school team on 19 Aug,

2017 and once again the school team emerged as winners.

Some more milestones achieved by the school alumni

Shorya Kapoor: Chef Shorya Kapoor is the youngest bakery expert who

has been trained in prestigious institutes in South Korea and Australia.

He started his professional bakery career at the age of 20 and has

trained more than 500 students during last two years. Now he steps out

for bakery skilling centre at Delhi Juvenile Home to discourage

teenagers from turning to crime.

Aastha Khanna Thakkar: She is a certified professional make-up artist

with Urban Clap based in Delhi/NCR.

Tapan Babbar: He is an independent User Interface Designer based in

Delhi. He is the creator of ‘Delhi Timeline’, a video on Kashmir to

Kanyakumari which highlights Nationalism, the need of the hour for the

present youth.

Meenal Rawat Taheem: She is the Director at three different Child Care

Programs in Edmonton. These programs specialise in early childhood

through play and special needs.

• Technovation is the Global Technology Entrepreneurship Program for

girls. Every year, Technovation challenges girl students all over the world to

build a mobile app using the MIT APP INVENTOR SOFTWARE.

• Two teams (08 girls from Class X) registered for the same under the

mentorship of Ms Meetu Tripathi, TGT, Computer Sc, Coach Team ZESTE (Topic :

FACE (Fight Against Critical Emergencies) and Ms Asha Menon, PRT, Computer

Art Competition

HCL Healthcare, one of the leading corporates of the country organised an Art

Competition on 28 April, 2017 in the school premises to promote healthy lifestyle

and to create awareness in the society. The theme of the competition was

‘Healthy Family, Winning Family’. Yash Garg (IX) was declared the winner at

Zonal as well as State level and was awarded cash prizes worth Rs.17,000/-, a

trophy and a Merit Certificate on 18 Aug, 2017.

6th Yang Ming International Adolescents Painting Competition 2016

Maitri Bala (VIII) was the proud recipient of the Silver Medal in recognition of her

outstanding work in 6th Yang Ming International Adolescents Painting Competition 2016

organised by Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation and Yang Ming Cultural

Foundation, Taiwan. A total of 4835 contestants from across 35 countries participated

in this competition. She received a Silver Medal and her Winning Artwork has been

published by Yang Ming Cultural Foundation, Republic of China.

SPACE in association with IASC (International Astronomical Search

Collaboration) conducted the Asteroid Search Campaign across India under

Dr. Patrick Miller of Hardin Simmons University, USA under the educational

outreach programme.

For 2017, this campaign training workshop was provided by SPACE on 16 July, 17

at DPS, Saket. A team of two students, Piyush Sharma (VII) and Purushrut

Pandey (VII), were trained to search asteroids in the Main Belt Asteroid through

advanced data analysis and specially designed software- ASTROMETRICA. Both

students have successfully recorded 06 preliminary discoveries so far.

Session-I : Orientation to Space Astronomy Club; Comets and Asteroids was

conducted on 24 July, 2017 which provided a hands- on experience of making

comets.

Session-II : Astronomer’s Tools, A grid in the sky, Creating a Sky Map was conducted

on 04 Aug, 2017. Students understood the importance of aids and tools required in

astronomy. They were introduced to the SPACE astronomy club kit and all its items.

Students were made familiar with the Astronomy Resource Book and the Software DVD.

Students learnt to assemble the SPACE launcher 50 MM telescope and learnt to

use and maintain it. They realized the use of these items in popularizing astronomy in

the community.

women in India, launched a challenge contest named “2017 Go Ladli - Lead like a

girl challenge”, a College scholarship opportunity for girls of Classes IX to XII.

The participating students were required to identify a girl/women centric

problem prevalent in India or in their community and propose a solution to

address it.

•Ashmita Bhagati (XI), Basundhara Jana (XI) and Vriti Gupta (XI) cleared

the first round and their names were listed amongst the top ten finalists. They

appeared in an interview on 10, 11 & 15 August, 2017 for which the results are

awaited.

•Under the aegis of Environment Club, a plantation drive was taken up in which 20

perennial plants were planted for greening the campus area.

•There is a universal affection, loyalty and respect for the National Flag. Keeping

in mind the same, an initiative was taken up to bring in awareness among

children of Classes VI-X as a pre Independence activity on 10 Aug, 2017 wherein

the different steps involved in respectful disposal of the National Flag were

screened through Smart Class.

A Blood Donation Camp was organized by the Interact Club of the school on 05

Aug, 2017, in association with Rotary Club, Noida. The support and kind

cooperation of the Staff and Parent Community made the camp a huge success.

49 units of blood were collected in the donation camp. It may be noted that the

school has been organizing Blood Donation Camp, on a regular and religious

basis for more than a decade now.

The History Club of the school embarked upon its maiden journey on 15 July,

2017 by visiting Qutub Complex and Mehrauli Archaeological Park, the

historical sites belonging to the era of the Delhi sultanate. The actual intent

of this trip was to expand classroom learning experience and explore the

OPEN EXAMS

UP Science Talent Search Examination is an initiative of the UP Government to

reward top 1000 students in Science in the State with a scholarship worth Rs. 2000/- per

LITERARY FEST

Enhancing diverse thinking amongst students and helping them hone their creative

spirits, the Language Department of the School hosted its first ever Literary Fest from

10-14 July, 2017. Students of Classes VI – X participated in the week long literary

activities.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY

The school held its 15th Investiture Ceremony on 28 July, 2017 with solemnity and pride.

With the School Auditorium under renovation the ceremony was held in school grounds.

The students of the Secondary and Sr Secondary School marched with their heads held

high to don the mantle of office bearers. The President Student Council, Rahul Rawat

(XII) Head Boy, Arukan Bansal (XII) .and Head Girl, Lavanya Rajan (XII) promised to lead

the school to greater heights.

JANAMASHTAMI WITH A PATRIOTIC FERVOUR

A Special Assembly on Janamashtami with a Patriotic Fervour, amidst revered

grandparents was celebrated on 11thAug 17 by the staff and the students of the Pre

Primary Wing with great pomp and show. The tiny tots who are the future citizens of

the country were apprised about the importance of the day. They took pride in

glorifying and celebrating the grand day by wearing tri coloured dresses.

Aditi Bhatt (IX) attended a Badminton camp at Prakash Padukone Academy, Bangalore

from 15 May to 09 June, 2017. She participated in the All India Junior Ranking

Badminton Tournament in Thiruananthapuram, Kerala held from 12 to 18 June, 2017 and

All India Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament in Bangalore held from 19 to 25 June,

2017. The July rankings reflect her as India No.3 in U-15 group of the ALL INDIA

BADMINTON FEDERATION. She also participated in All India Junior Ranking Badminton

Tournament at Jaipur from 07 to 15 July, 2017.

Jr Boys School Table Tennis team comprising John Zamliana (X), L Puia (IX), Samarth (IX) and

Ayush (VIII) won the district team championship organized by Gautam Budh Nagar District

Table Tennis Association under the aegis of Uttar Pradesh Table Tennis Association held at

Noida Stadium from 18 to 20 Aug, 2017. The team has qualified for the State Team

Championship to be held at HRIT Campus, Ghaziabad from 29 Aug to 01 Sep, 2017.

SCHOOL TRANSPORTPresently 13 routes of Primary and Senior School and 5 Routes of the Pre Primary Wing

are operational, out of which 11 routes operate in and around Noida and 01 each on

Indirapuram, Ghaziabad and Delhi stretch. The Supreme Court and STA guidelines are

being followed.

To improve the safety standards of the school, drivers and conductors are regularly

counseled and breath analysis test towards drinking of alcohol is randomly conducted

by the School Doctor at Kailash Hospital.

Of late, all drivers of the school have undergone an eye check up, with their Medical

Reports placed in respective Personal files.

Replacement of Transformer :

315 KVA, school owned transformer installed in school premises in the year 2005 has

been burnt. The burnt Copper wire substitute thermal link inside the transformer

created under voltage, thereby leading to its technical failure. The technical assessment

of the same transformer by State Electricity Board suggests replacement of the existing

transformer.

A stand by transformer has been installed for the time being and a new 400 KVA, IS-1180

Make transformer is likely to be installed on 22 Aug, 2017.

All parents were intimated vide School Circular No14/2017-18, dated 19 July, 2017
