Principal’s Message It is with a sad heart that I announce I will be

leaving Beaverly Elementary next year as I am

part of this school, where truly our students shine

like stars! I know that the incoming Principal,

We have had such an amazing year at Beaverly Elementary! We won the Spread

the Net Student Challenge! We raised $26,900 in total for Spread the Net making

us the number one school in Canada! I am thrilled to say that Beaverly Elementary

purchased 2,690 bed nets which will be going to Zimbabwe to help fight the battle

against malaria. We also got a visit from Rick Mercer and our school was featured

on the Rick Mercer Report! I am sure that the moment will be remembered fondly

for some time.

A big shout out to Ms. Chapman and her yearbook team for their fantastic job on

this year’s yearbook! Thank you team for creating a book that helps students

remember the great year we have had this year.

A sad goodbye to the following staff members who will be leaving us next year:

Ms. Chapman, Mrs. Bass, Mrs. Walton, Ms. Buttenar, Ms. Omit, Mrs. Slavik, and

Mrs. Render. We wish them all the best!

Library News:

Look under your owl, look high and low

bring all your books back to the Library!

We have had a wonderful year in the library! We have

had authors Ted Staunton and Adam Dreece come for a

visit to share their novels and their writing process. We

had two Scholastic Book Fairs that were very well

attended – we received money to donate to Spread the

Net! We learned how to use code.org as well as the DLC

e-resources! Finally, our Red Cedar students worked

extremely hard this year reading Canadian authors!

Thank you to all Beaverly Students for doing such an

amazing job this year with reading library books. Please

remember books were due on the 19th

and we need the

books or you will be receiving a bill. I also will be

sending bills for damaged books.

Thank you to all of our parents for ensuring our students

are reading and returning books so that new ones can

come home!

Moving forward to next year, I would like to ask that

every student has a book bag for their books. I have seen

some damage this year and a plastic Ziploc bag may have

saved the day!

Please remember to visit the Prince George Public

Library to check out books and their summer programs!

Happy Reading and see you in September, Mrs. Goudal.
