Dear Parents and Caregivers, We are close to the end of the school year! As you would imagine, our teachers are feverishly writing reports and planning classes and learning for 2018.

In the meantime, classes carry on, but with a few rewards and special events to close out term 4. I’d like to emphasise the importance of students being respectful, responsible, co-operative and safe all the way to the last day of the term. Many students are tired towards the end of term – especially those who have been swimming - and some are little cranky. Its important students get to bed early to get a full night’s sleep, and come to school ready for the day.

There are two events in particular I am looking forward to over the next two weeks, and hope to meet some more parents there: the Year 6 Farewell, and the Presentation Day. Both are great opportunities to celebrate student achievement and recognise the effort kids in our school make every day.

CHRISTMAS!

Caroline is a Strong and Smart member of KM. She loves coming to school to see her best friends and makes the whole class laugh with her jokes. Caroline is also an amazing artist! She recently won a prize at the Pre2 Young Archie Portrait Competition. She painted a bright and beautiful picture of her hero… her mum! Wowsers wowsers chicken chowsers! What an achievement Caroline! Your teachers are so proud of you!

This year 6/5T and 6/5S designed a lunchbox as part of their healthy lunchbox cooking program. We have these fantastic lunch bags available for sale at the front office for $10.00. There are many bright colours to choose from.

IMPORTANT DATES

Class of the Week- KM

KM has had such a huge term! They have been learning all about ‘The Snail and the Whale’ by Julia Donaldson. They have investigated coral reefs, sea monkeys and sensory fish tanks. They have been developing their language skills by participating in barrier games, independent reading, writing, making and imaginative play. They are so excited about Christmas coming up and enjoyed exploring length to make an amazing stick Christmas tree!

Christmas is just around the corner. There is only 20 sleeps to go! This week is the last week for Glenroi Grasshoppers and next Friday is the last playgroup for Cheeky Monkeys. Get into the Christmas spirit and join in the last playgroups for 2017!

School Swimming Scheme This week is the last week of swimming lessons at the Orange Aquatic Centre. Lessons finish on Friday 8th December 2017. Please ensure you child’s swimmers, towel etc are packed daily.
