Hello all Here we are in De- cember and the ground is still green (ok, brown), mostly. It has been a strange fall/winter so far. From a really late harvest to a very mild November, it is certainly not the norm. What a great year we have had so far at PCA. Volleyball season wrapped up with a provin- cial berth by the senior girls and great season ending tournaments for the other teams. Basket- ball is well underway with the first games starting this weekend. I am sure it will be but a blink of the eye before we are staring at girls 2A provincials be- ing hosted at our school this year. We are also well into the Christmas Con- cert season. We hope you are able to join us on either or both of our con- certs. On Tuesday De- cember 13, our band and His Singers will be pre- senting at 7:00, and on Friday, December 16 we will be hosting our annual Christmas Concert, also at 7:00. Finally, on Mon- day December 12, our an- nual junior high ski trip will be heading to Nakiska. We hope that Christmas will be a blessed time for you and your family, and pray for safe travels for all in- volved. And the Word be- came flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Fa- ther, full of grace and truth. The month of November was a crazy one for Sabres Athletics! 4 out of our 6 volleyball teams all hosted

a tournament here at PCA! It started off with the Jr. B teams hosting their final tournament on Nov 5.

They both played extremely well and in the end, ended up winning their last game of the season! Earn-

ing them bronze in the tournament!

The Jr. A teams both made it to Zones with the girls in Linden and the Boys here at PCA. The girls had a

strong showing at zones as they swept their pool, finishing first heading into playoffs. They battled ex-

tremely hard and came up just short of the bronze medal. The boys also faced adversity during their zone championship, as

they went on to win their pool putting them in a good position in the playoffs. They fought their way to the final and lost by only

a few points, winning the silver medal in the end.

Our Sr. teams both qualified for zones, the boys headed off to Okotoks to play in their zone tournament. They worked hard

and beat some teams that they had previously lost to and in the end lost in the bronze medal match!

The girls hosted their zone tournament on the 18th and 19th. The girls struggled early, dropping sets to some easier teams, but

worked and found themselves in first place in their pool heading into playoffs, and in the end in the finals! There was a great

show of support from the PCA fans as the girls battled Strathcona Tweedsmiur in the finals. After all was said and done, the

girls came out on top in 3 sets earning them the zone banner and a spot in provincials!

They went off to provincials and represented PCA well! They went down in many games but were able to battle back. They beat

the top team in their pool but unfortunately could not make playoffs, overall an amazing showing of skill, hard work and most

importantly a Christ-like attitude.

Basketball is now fully underway as each team gets set for their seasons. 5 teams will have tourna-

ments in the month of December. We are excited once again to have all 6 teams here at PCA!

If you have taken pictures of PCA students in action (sporting events especially) we would love for you to send them our way! Please email all pictures in their original size, and jpeg format, to:
