Year 12 Celebration Day and Assembly On Tuesday 22nd October the school held a Whole School Assembly in which we farewelled our 2019 Year 12s from their formal classes and wished them all of the best in their upcoming exams.
It was great to see so many family and friends of the Year 12s attending the assembly to reflect on and celebrate their 13 years of schooling. The assembly was organised by the Year 12s with support from Later Years Leader Ms Liz Kelly and Year 12 Manager Mr Adam Freeman, it combined a mixture of heartfelt messages and humour and was a fitting way for the students to farewell their time at Oberon High School.
VCE Exams Students across the state began their VCE exams on Wednesday 30th October, with the English exam and will conclude exams on Wednesday 20th November with Indonesian.
We wish all of our students undertaking VCE subjects all the best in their upcoming exam period. A reminder to parents and students that all Year 12 teachers will remain accessible to the students up until their VCE exam is completed, therefore I encourage students to use this resource if required.
A wonderful achievement by Sarah, Amelie and Caleb.

PRINCIPAL’S REPORT
Uniting Barwon has access to limited funds to provide assistance for families who may need extra support with the financial cost of books (including the cost of the digital books subscription to Education Perfect) and uniforms for 2020. Families need to have a current Health Care Card to be eligible for support.
As part of the process Uniting Barwon require a family member to attend an interview to help determine the needs and support that the family require.
Unfortunately the funds do not enable them to assist all families with a Centrelink benefit card, thus it is important to get in early.
Please contact Uniting Barwon between 9.00am and 12.00pm on 4210 1100, from October 14th to arrange an interview as soon as possible. Interviews will be conducted from October 29th and then on every Tuesday and Thursday until the end of November 2019.
If you have further questions or queries regarding this process, please feel free to contact me at Oberon High School on 52 43 4444.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR BOOKS & UNIFORMS FOR 20208
In extremely windy conditions Lockie Bath capped off a sensational year by sweeping the prize table at Colac Golf Club.
Bath completed the trifecta by claiming the Craig Spence Cup, The SWGA Boys Championship and the Junior Order of Merit – Bill Cunningham Trophy (Gross section).
Bath had to deal with a strong field including Country Week players Tom Hanson and Matty McFarlane, seasoned campaigner Jack Martin, Port Fairy star Noah Best and a host of other up and coming guns.
In the end, Bath held his nerve to defeat Hanson in a sudden death playoff.
Congratulations Lockie on your great achievements.

As part of Oberon High School’s commitment to Community Service, each year we organise an Oberon Christmas Appeal to support families in our local area. This year our Christmas
Appeal aims to support Uniting Care - who every year supports many of our Oberon families by providing assistance with the purchase of text books and uniforms. Through our fundraising efforts, we will be presenting Uniting Barwon with children’s toys, which they will distribute to local families in need.
Students from the Year 7C Enhancement Class are organising the Oberon Christmas Appeal for 2019 as a part of their Compass Awards Program.
To assist us with the Appeal we would like to ask students and their families to donate gifts.
Suggested items for donation could include:
Toys eg: Lego, Cars, Dolls & Beach Toys
Kids DVD’s
Arts & Crafts
Colouring Items eg: Textas, Pencils & Colouring Books
Gift Cards
Sporting Equipment – Bats & Balls
Casual Dress Day
BBQ/Drinks/Spiders
Food Stall
Unfortunately due to Health Regulations we are unable to accept second-hand items.
If you prefer to donate gold coins these will be used to go toward the purchase of children’s toys.
We will be collecting items/donations up until the end of November. Please bring donations to Carole Fisher in staffroom 1 or leave in the main office. Any questions or concerns, please feel free to call on 5243 4444.
If you would like to donate items for the raffle hampers we would greatly appreciate this. We are aiming to raise $1,500.
