P& C News Next Meeting:Monday 11th February 3:30pm - Library ClassroomHello to all students, parents, teachers and community members,

Welcome back to all students, teachers, and a special welcome is extended to all our new families and children who have enrolled in Prep and other year levels who are starting a new chapter in learning at White Rock State School.

I’m sure there have been a few tears on seeing your children start off on adventures of their own without Mum and Dad waiting in the wings. By now hopefully those initial tears have subsided somewhat at seeing how much joy our children feel whilst learning and getting to know new friends. For parents that are already settled in at school there may have been a few tears of joy that school has started with all this rain we’ve experienced this last fortnight, which certainly has made entertaining children a little challenging - at least it has been for our family.

The next P&C meeting is virtually upon us with less then two weeks until this takes place. So the forthcoming meeting would be a great chance for as many parents as possible who would like to be actively involved in their children’s education to join in and see what we can do “together” to continue to make White Rock School the best school in Cairns. The P&C work with the school in developing school policy to raising funds for the needs or our children to further enhance education benefiting your child/ren directly. The P&C also empowers parents to have a ‘voice’ and to be involved in the school’s decision making processes.

So, please try and keep Monday the 11th of February free and join the P&C and Principal Dan Hollis at 3.30pm. The P&C meet at a room adjacent to the library, so we look forward to seeing you there.

I nearly forgot, please don’t forget to bring your eligible drink bottles and cans in to be dropped off at school in our marked recycling bins!

Mums, Dads, Teachers, Students and Community members, you make our school rock, thank you.

Warm Regards,

Darren Hammerton
