Rewards of Working at MSNDP Musique Sacrée was a window into France’s long

cultural history and the way in which that history is being upheld by a modern day French nonprofit.

Working in Notre-Dame Cathedral on concert nights was a truly awe-inspiring, once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Making an Impact As an Anglophone, I was able to

help MSNDP with their efforts to bridge language barriers—on the website, with a vocabulary sheet for the choir, and researching exchange opportunities abroad.

Making an Impact Musique Sacrée is a very small nonprofit, so it made a

significant difference to have an intern focusing on preparing webpages for the next season’s concerts.

PIF and My Academic Goals Being surrounded by Roman and

medieval sites made me realize how much I love the history of those periods. This is something I definitely want to explore coming back to Princeton.

Through my work with Musique Sacrée, I learned about music, religion, history, and language in an immersive, integrated, and active way.

Personal Growth For me, Princeton in France was my first time:

Using French in a formal, professional context

Being immersed in another culture for more than a week

Living in a big city, living independently

My experiences in Paris this summer were meaningful on so many different levels, and will undoubtedly stay with me and enrich my life at Princeton and beyond.
