On behalf of Prince Alfred College, I would like to offer our friends from St Peter’s College a warm welcome for the winter Inter-collegiate sporting fixtures that are to be held at Prince Alfred College.

We hope that players, coaches and supporters all enjoy participating in and attending some outstanding fixtures at both schools. We are confident that they will be high standard sporting events, played in the spirit of fierce competition and respectful sportsmanship for which these events are known.

The special relationship between our two schools is something that we all cherish and we know that these events provide our students with some of their most memorable experiences from their school days.

We wish players, coaches and supporters well for the fixtures ahead.

Firstly, I’d like to thank Prince Alfred College for hosting us this year, and for the warm reception that the Saints community receive during the Winter Intercol season.

For the boys engaged in these games, the lead-in is full of excitement and anticipation. There is also a sense of pride in being able to represent your School in a rivalry that goes back to the 1870’s.

The games themselves will be played at a higher level of intensity than a normal fixture, because every student wants to do the best they can for their School. Nothing will be left in reserve. Win, lose or draw though, I know that the enduring and special relationship that we have with each other will ensure that an atmosphere of mutual and genuine respect prevails.

In this, our 170th year, we hope for intense, passionate and respectful rivalry and thank the players, coaches and supporters for their part in creating another memorable chapter in this enduring story.
