Post-conference ActivitiesAmerican Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) SAM Study Group Session SAM Study Group Session: Module Topic on Mental Health in the Community – Content Expert: Charlotte Guest, MD Friday, September 19, 2014, 3:30 pm – 6:30 pm (Optional – Limited to 24 participants)Target Audience:TheSAMLearningSessionisdesignedforfamilymedicinephysicianswhointendtomaintaintheircertification.

Course Description: The SAM Study Group session will be conducted in an interactive group setting and led by content experts. During the session, the group will review and discuss the SAM core competency questions and identify best answers. After completion of the session, the facilitator will report the group’s answers and participation to the ABFM.

Accreditation: Participants will only receive MC-FP credit for the module if they:• are currently eligible for and enrolled in the MC-FP process;• have not already completed the module topic that is being covered in the SAM Study Group session;• have not already completed their current MC-FP Stage requirements;• successfully complete the Knowledge Assessment portion of the SAM module within the group (or afterward if needed) as well as the Clinical

Simulation section* • attend and fully participate in the educational discussion of the entire session.

During the learning session, the group will identify and discuss the answers to the module questions. Following the session, ABIM BoardCertifiedphysiciansmaylogintotheirphysicianloginhomepagetoorder a copy of the modules and submit the answers to ABIM for scoring, CME and MOC credit. Course Description: The American Heart Association designed the BLS for Health Care Provider’s course to prepare health care professionals in performing CPR both in and out of hospital settings. This course trains participants to promptly recognize cardiac arrest, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriateventilationsandprovideearlyuseofanautomatedexternaldefibrillatoraspartofateamandalsoindividually.Additionally,thiscourseteacheshow to relieve choking and includes adult, child and infant rescue techniques. Participants must have a current BLS card.
