Hi friends! Sorry I am late. I was

just setting up my “Kindsville Classroom”

online account!

STAY

Yes!

I took a really long time to decide on a password.

It is super special and unique. I am sure none

of you can guess it.

Have you set up your accounts?

ONLINE

… Could it be… “I LOVE

DAISIES”?

No! I told you, it is not that easy to guess!

I can’t take it! You are making me

so curious!

No, it can’t work. You need to have numbers in your password too.

Oh yeah. Is it…

“KINDNESS101”?

Fine, I guess I can tell you since we are friends! – Wait,

you are not supposed to –

It is “R8INBOW”!“Rainbow”, but with

a number “8”.

It is dangerous. It means other people can log in and use your account without

your permission.

Sher! You are not supposed to tell anyone your

passwords! Why not?

You could get into all kinds

of trouble.

Oh. I did not think about that.

I will be more careful in the future.

What other online dangers should we

look out for, Singa?

We should be careful of strangers on

the Internet. We can’t see their faces so we won’t

know who they really are. They could be bad guys

in disguise!

Yikes, I don’t want to talk to bad guys!

The safest is not to talk to strangers online and avoid clicking on suspicious websites or emails. Ask your parents or a trusted adult when you are surfing the Internet so that they can guide you away from dangerous websites and emails.

You’re welcome! I hope they help you

Wow. That sounds

serious. It was! I had to trouble my parents to get

it repaired.Oh dear.

Thanks for sharing these

Internet safety tips, Singa!

Emails from strangers can contain viruses that can harm

your computer!

I wish I knew this earlier. A few

months ago, I opened an email out of curiosity,

and it made my computer crash!

Did you know that in Singapore, all males are to perform National Service (NS) when they are 18 years old?

National Service personnel have different jobs. They can be in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), Singapore Civil Defence Force

(SCDF) or Singapore Police Force (SPF).

Singapore Armed Forces (SAF)Servicemen in the SAF train and work to keep Singapore safe. There

are many different jobs in the SAF from being a soldier in the Army, a

pilot in the Air Force to keeping our seas safe in the Navy.

Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF)

Firefighters and paramedics work in the SCDF, who

respond when we call 995. They must train very

hard so that they can perform their job quickly in

dangerous situations to save as many people as

possible!

Singapore Police Force (SPF)The SPF is made up of the policemen we see patrolling our neighbourhoods. They work with the community to keep Singapore safe and respond to incidents when we call 999. They also ensure the safety and security of our buses and trains and patrol Singapore’s coasts to prevent any intruders from coming in.

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO SHOW APPRECIATION AND RESPECT TO OUR NSFS?

Find out moreAsk your dad, uncles, brothers, or even male teachers what they did when they were in NS! By listening to their stories, we can better appreciate the efforts they have put in to overcome different challenges.

Say thank youThank the people you know who have completed NS by giving them a thank you card! We should be grateful for their hard work and determination in keeping Singapore safe.

Dear Singa,

I lost my favourite eraser in class. I was very sad. The next day, I saw a piece of paper on my desk. It was a note from my classmate, Amber. My eraser

was with the note. Amber found it on the floor. I thanked her and felt happy!
