Practical information: Nice, the Capital of the French Riviera is a lively city, with its carnival and cultural events running all year round. It is worth taking the time to discover Nice in depth: wander at random through the narrow streets of the old town and then stroll along the famous "Promenade" before entering into the heart of the city with its rich architectural and cultural heritage and its parks and gardens. Nice has a total of 19 museums and galleries, 32 classified historical monuments. Shops The majority of shops are open all day from 9am to 7pm, Monday to Saturday. Sundays and public holidays are the usual closing days, although there are some exceptions... All towns of the Riviera and of the hinterland are easily reached either by train or bus. (For instance there are trains every half hour to Cannes, Monaco….) If you’ve forgotten to bring these important accessories, you’ll be able to find them in electrical goods and DIY stores or hypermarkets. Specialized programmes in Nice: French and French cuisine: Learn how to make typical French dishes on the French Riviera using local seasonal produce. Students will also learn origins and anecdotes about French cuisine. Classes take place in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, in a chef “apartment-cuisine”.
