Preparation for Template and Installation:
customer obligations
Part of the process to manufacture and install worksurfaces is to“template” the kitchen, which finalises all of the measurementsand specifications required to fulfil your requirements; tocomplete this successfully, we require preparation from thecustomer with the following :-
Template Visit
1. During the visit either the customer or an authorisedrepresentative must be present to discuss, agree and sign off allof the required information, this will be explained clearly duringthe visit. This can take up to 3 hours, please allow sufficient time.
2. Where specific parking areas or conditions apply, a validpermit or similar must be provided free of charge.
3. All sinks and appliances must be disconnected and the worksurfaces removed prior to Templating, to allow the new worksurfaces to be Templated right back to the walls.
4. We do not fit temporary worksurfaces between Templating andInstallation, therefore this must be arranged if a working kitchenis required during this time.
5. Any required alterations to the walls or structure must becompleted before the Template visit.
6. All kitchen cabinets that sit on the floor must be levelled andsecured to the walls in the final positions, all planned side/endpanels must be fitted to these cabinets.
7. Any space or gaps between these cabinets that are greaterthan 600mm wide must have wall supports fixed to the back wall, these should be made from lengths of 50mm x 25mm softwood(or similar) screwed to the walls level with the tops of theadjacent cabinets.
8. This support is also required where there is any unsupportedwall space greater than 600mm behind longer cabinets andCorner Carousel installations.
9. If there are 2 or more floor standing appliances next to eachother, the customer must ensure a side/end panel is fittedbetween each appliance to support the worksurfaces.
10.The planned positions of Sinks and Taps, Hobs and otherappliances that are to be installed into the work surfaces must befinalised and available for the Templater, together with theirinstallation instructions – if this information is not available theinstallation may be delayed until it is available.
11.Any tiling or plastering should be completed after theinstallation.
If the above are not complete or available, the Templater willwait for up to 1 hour for this to be completed, if this is notpossible the visit will be aborted and an additional chargewill be applied.
Installation Visit
During the visit either the customer or an authorisedrepresentative must be present to sign off the Satisfaction Noteonce the work is completed. If this is not possible the visit will beaborted and an additional charge will be applied.
All sinks and appliances must be disconnected and anytemporary work surfaces removed prior to Installation. Theinstallation cannot start if this is not complete and will beaborted, a charge will be applied.
If you need to clarify any of these requirements or to change anyarrangements for the Template or Installation, please contactour Installation team.

Apollo® Urban Sinks R10# (waste disposal units must be supported by a cradle)
The Urban sinks which have Corian® sides and a stainless steel base, are available in the colour of your choice to match or co-ordinate withyour worksurface. In order to avoid any colour variance between the top and the bowl, wesuggest a bevel or moulded edge, if this is not specified, we will use ourdiscretion as to which detail will be used.Stainless steel bases can be susceptible to scratching. There can be a slight variation in colour between sink and worktop. Thisis due to the material being thermoformed (heated and curved to a tight10mm radius).

Important points to noteMeasuring up• Corian® can expand as much as 1mm/mtr, so always allow a gap of at
least 3mm if for example, worktops are captive between walls• Splashbacks or upstands over 100mm high must have a minimum
gap from the face to the rear of the hob: Electric 50mm/Gas 100mm• Wherever possible joints in worktops should fall on a carcass end,
not in the middle, this gives added support to a joint. • Tolerance in Corian® solid surface is ±2mm• Allow a min 50mm from the cutout to the front edge• Allow min 120mm between heated cutouts (or 50mm sink cutouts)• Plan the worktop layout to ensure joints don’t fall on or within
100mm of cutouts.• Stainless steel sink cut outs to manufacturer’s recommendations• Standard overhang is 35mm from the carcass front (not the door) • Overhangs in excess of 300mm should be supported and worktop
should be supported every 600mm
Hot Stuff• Do not pour boiling hot water directly into solid surface sinks, and
where constant boiling hot water taps are fitted, please ensure theyare not left running directly into solid surface sinks
• Heat producing appliances that sit beneath worktop, must have analuminium foil membrane placed on the underside of worktopdirectly above the appliance
• Always use pan rests or trivets to avoid the risk of heat damage • Ensure that pans used on gas hobs are of correct size• Hob flanges need to sit on aluminium thermal insulation tape around
the cut-out, to avoid conducting too much heat and causing cracks inthe worktop
Installation• Plastering or tiling should be completed after installation• Corian® has a semi matt finish. Wiping the surface clean will help
build up a smoother patina, which helps improve scratch and stainresistance.
• Regular use of your Care & maintenance Kit should ensure thatyour worktops always looks good.

Important points to noteMeasuring up• Our hardwood worktops are constructed from 40mm wide, finger jointed
pieces of kiln dried timber• Tolerance on bespoke wood ±2mm on blanks ±5mm • Worktops can expand as much as 1mm/mtr in length, so always allow a
gap of at least 3mm, between the worktop and the wall if for example, worktops are captive between walls
• Upstands should be fixed to the wall and NOT to the worktop. There should be a 3mm gap between the worksurface and upstand, theonly connection between upstand and worktops should be siliconesealant, allowing the natural movement of your worktop
• Upstands over 100mm high must have a minimum gap from the face tothe rear of the hob: Electric 50mm, Gas 150mm
• Allow a minimum 50mm from the cutout to the front edge• Allow minimum 120mm between heated cutouts• Allow minimum 100mm between sink cutouts• Stainless steel sink cut outs are made to manufacturers

Installation• Plastering or tiling should be completed after installation• Timber worksurfaces must not be installed in unoccupied premises.• If wood worktops are to be stored prior to installation, they should
always be stored at room temperature away from all sources of heatand moisture, on a sound level surface horizontally with a minimum offour timber battens equally spaced in between each worktop and on thefloor
• Never store in a garage or an unfinished building and always installwithin 7 days of delivery
• Seal regularly in the first couple of weeks after installation to avoid theworktops drying out
• To test if a worksurface requires further sealing, apply a drop of water tothe surface, if the water pools the sealing requires further attention. Ifthe water runs away, no more sealing is required.
• Regular use of your Care & maintenance Kit should ensure that yourworktops always look good and perform well
• Although we will endeavour to supply product as close as possible tothe sample in-store, variations in colour can occur. Please contact us forsamples of current stock, as we cannot accept responsibility fordifferences between samples and stock once your worksurface hasbeen manufactured

Granite is a natural substance and no two pieces of granite everlook exactly alike, giving it an individuality that no man madeproduct can boast. The composition of minerals and the deposit itwas quarried from, all play a part in the appearance of granite.
• Granite is a coarse grained, crystalline igneous rock primarilycomposed of Quartz and Feldspar. It forms from slowlycooling magma that is subjected to extreme pressures deepbeneath the earth’s surface
• Extremely hardwearing, granite is one of the hardestmaterials on earth and a granite worktop can last a lifetime
• Our granite colours are categorised into groups, as listedbelow. However 40mm thick granite is available in certaincolours and other colours not listed are available to specialorder - please contact our Retail Sales Office for furtherdetails

Important points to noteMeasuring up
• Granite worktops can expand as much as 1mm/mtr, so always allowa gap of at least 3mm if for example, worktops are captive betweenwalls
• Tolerance in granite is ±2mm• Standard overhang is 35mm from the carcass front, not the door.
• Overhangs in excess of 300mm should be supported(a metal support frame is recommended for overhangs)
• The worktop should be supported every 600mm• Wherever possible, joints in worktops should fall on a carcass end
panel not in the middle, this gives additional support to a joint. • Granite sink / hob cut outs are barred front & back (fitting of steel
support bars to give additional support to cutouts), without steelsupport bars the length of a cut out is reduced considerably
• Allow a minimum 50mm from the hob or undermounted sink cutout tothe front edge, 50mm from the back edge, 120mm between two hobcutouts (70mm between sink cut outs). Allow a minimum of 80mmfrom the polished sink cut out to the front edge
• Joints must be at least 100mm from sink or 120mm from hob cut-out.
• Splashbacks and upstands over 100mm high must have aminimum gap from the face to the rear of the hob: Electric 50mm,Gas 100mm
• Drainer grooves and recessed drainers may have a slightly dullerappearance than the worktop
• Joints above appliances are acceptable provided front and backsupport rails are fitted
• Stainless steel sink cut outs are made to manufacturersrecommendations
Hot Stuff• Ensure that pans used on gas hobs are of correct size• Never place hot pans or cooking equipment directly onto the
worksurface (or into an empty sink). Always use a heat protection pador a trivet with rubber feet for hot cook wear or leave pans etc to coolon the hob first
• Hob flanges need to sit on aluminium thermal insulation tape aroundthe cut-out to avoid conducting excess heat & causing cracks in theworktop
• Flush mounted, recessed hobs (including induction hobs) are notcovered under warranty

Technical Information• The molecular structure renders Granite very stable and rigid,
it will not bend or flex• Small scratches of less than 25mm in length are within
tolerance and are considered acceptable• Granite is sometimes susceptible to ‘blowing out’. This occurs
when contact is made with the material whilst cutting orgrinding. This is very common in large particled Granite,Sheridan will fill and seal affected areas with epoxy resin,(color may vary) to ensure the material is not left with anysharp edges or chips
• Always use a chopping board, as granite will blunt your knivesand whilst it is scratch resistant, granite is not scratch proof
• Joints/notches are finished with a small arris to the top edge toremove sharp edges. Silicon sealant is applied to the jointbelow the arris to avoid water ingression

Technical InformationImportant - please note• As granite is a natural stone, pitting and veining can occur in
random distribution of swirls, subtle variations in shade or areasof contrast can also appear within the body of the worksurfaceand all result in its’ unique appearance
• Some level of what could be referred to as spots or blotches areinherent in the material. Small fissures are a common feature inany granite and these natural flaws were present at the rockformation and are not product faults
• Being a natural material, granite does require sealing every6 months (depending upon amount of traffic) and, being aporous material, can absorb spillages and is likely to stainunless wiped away immediately
• Granite is natural and can vary from the showroom sample
Apollo® Quartz is an engineered stone made from 93% quartzcrystals and polymer resin• Quartz worktops are a popular choice for today's kitchen being
a durable, designer friendly option when remodelling a kitchen• The selection of colours includes a number of vibrant hues not
available in natural materials such as granite• Apollo® Quartz worktops do not need polishing or sealing• Apollo® Quartz worktops are uniform in colour and pattern• Non-porous, naturally resistant to mould, bacteria and mildew• Stain and heat resistant• Tested to FIRA Industry Standards• Apollo® Quartz colours are categorised in 3 bands, as listed
below.

Important -please note• Engineered stone is manufactured in batch processes and as
the raw material is natural quartz, variations in tone, size, shape and pattern of the stone may occur between slabs andcertainly between batches. Some colours have different levelsof pigmentation and/or particle distribution. This may lead tovariation in the appearance of the worktop and is not a productfault.
• Plain colours are prone to contamination (e.g. light coloursshow small dark spots while darker colours may appear patchywith lighter spots) and occasional contrasting coloured stonechips can be expected in material of natural origin; these arenot defects in the material.
• Where mirror reflectors form part of the matrix of the worktop, their distribution and orientation will be random; it is notpossible for all mirrored flecks to be facing the surface; wheresurface mirror flecks become detached these may sometimesbe repaired using a resin filler, this is not a product fault.
• Apollo® Quartz is vibrated to remove air trapped duringmanufacture and it is common to find very small air holes inthe surface of all colours, these are inherent in themanufacturing process of engineered stone and are notconsidered as product faults.
This process is industry standard and does not affect yourwarranty. We endeavour to produce your worktops without voidsor airholes, inevitably this is not always practically possible.

Important points to noteMeasuring up• Apollo® Quartz worktops can expand as much as 1mm/mtr, so
always allow a gap of at least 3mm if for example, worktops arecaptive between walls
• Tolerance in Apollo® Quartz ±2mm• Overhangs in excess of 300mm need support• The worktops should be supported every 600mm• Wherever possible, joints in worktops should fall on a carcass
end panel not in the middle, this gives added support to a joint. • Plan the worktop layout to ensure joints don’t fall on or within
50mm of cutouts.• Allow a minimum 50mm from the cutout to the front edge, 50mm
from the back edge and 120mm between two hob cutouts• Allow a minimum of 70mm between sink cut outs.• Splashbacks and upstands over 100mm high must have a
minimum gap from the face to the rear of the hob: Electric50mm, Gas 100mm
Hot Stuff• Hob flanges need to sit on aluminium thermal insulation tape
around the cut-out to avoid conducting excess heat & causingcracks in the worktop
• Never place hot pans or cooking equipment directly onto theworksurface (or into an empty sink). Always use a heatprotection pad or a trivet with rubber feet for hot cook wear orleave the pans etc to cool on the hob first.
• Flush mounted, recessed hobs (including induction hobs) are notcovered under warranty
Installation• Plastering or tiling should be completed after installation.• Drainer grooves and recessed drainers may have a slightly duller
appearance than the worktop
• Stainless steel sink cut outs are made to manufacturersrecommendations
• Always use a chopping board; whilst the surface is scratchresistant, it is not scratch proof.
• Care should always be taken to protect your worksurface fromsharp or heavy items.
• Care should be taken with exposed edges as if caughtaccidentally chipping can occur
• Although we will endeavour to supply product as close aspossible to the sample in-store, variations in colour can occur. Please contact us for samples of current stock, as we cannotaccept responsibility for differences between samples and stockonce your worksurface has been manufactured
