I am Beautiful Women’s
Foundation is a nonprofit or-
ganization that was legally
formed in the State of Geor-
gia. Our organization’s goal
is to raise funds which will be
use to offset the cost of treat-
ments for women and young
girls who are suffering severe
hair loss as a result of any
medical condition such as
cancer, lupus, diabetes, etc…,
to include genetic alopecia,
fire or chemical burns and for
the purchase of cranial hair
prostheses and Low Lever
Laser Therapy to re-grow
natural hair. We will also be
working to educate the public
about hair loss, hair loss pre-
vention and the effects it has
on the individual and love
ones. Through our programs
we hope to help as many in-
dividuals as possible with the
resources we have available.
We will be raising money by
collecting donations as well
as by holding a variety of dif-
ferent fundraising events.
The funds we raise will be
used to cover expense of
scalp and hair treatments,
which are often viewed as
cosmetic and as a result not
covered by insurance compa-
nies. We will also assist with
day to day expenses that our
clients find hard to maintain
due to the high cost of medi-
cal bills.., expenses such as
utilities bills, child care, edu-
cation, food and clothing for
the kids, and emotional coun-
seling to name a few.
Our cause at I Am Beautiful
Women's Foundation "Parade
of Ribbons", is to unify our
efforts with the efforts of oth-
ers to bring awareness of the
many diseases that women
and young girls suffer with
and provide a support system
which do not discriminate
based on the type of disease
the individual is suffering
with.
Our immediate goal is to as-
sist women and young girls
who suffer severe hair loss as
a result of these many dis-
eases. Most insurance
companies consider this
assistance as a cosmetic pro-
cedure and refuse to offer
coverage. As we all under-
stand hair recovery connected
to any medical condition is
far from a cosmetic procedure
for women.
We have now extended our
goals to include all other as-
sistance needed for women
and young girls who suffer
severe hair loss. We have a
network of services which in-
clude things like, counseling,
medical advice, motivational
workshop, family assistance,
and more...
Our "Parade of Ribbons"
events are designed to bring
together supporters of all dis-
eases and make them aware
of the commonality of their
causes, unify their efforts and
bring notice to the commu-
nity and local businesses that
support for certain diseases
shouldn't began and end on
the first and last day of a des-
ignated month for that par-
ticular disease.
We invite you to join in our
efforts by hosting or becom-
ing a sponsor for "Parade of
Ribbons". We will assist you
in hosting your own "Parade
of Ribbons" walk/run, fash-
ion show or benefit. Use you
imagination to make your
event one of the most uplift-
ing and remember able
events in your community.
Pretty-n-Pink, Breast Cancer Survivor Fashion Show
In late September, 2014 I Am Beautiful Women’s Foundation started
partnering with different Dillard’s stores around the eastern part of the
country to honor breast cancer survivors.
This occasion celebrates the strength, beauty, and spirit of breast cancer
survivors and the courage and compassion of their families, friends and
support network.
The purpose of these “Pretty-n-Pink” fashion shows is to spread hope
and inspire others to fight their personal battle with cancer and severe
hair loss associated with cancer and many other diseases.
All the models chosen for these Pretty-n-Pink fashion shows are breast
cancer survivors.
Why We Chose Dillard’s
Dillard’s is a major contributor to the fight for a cure. Dillard's Fit for a
Cure event is a perfect fit for our Pretty-n-Pink fashion show. Dillard's

chased. The foundation advocates for breast cancer awareness and re-
search.
At these events information on how to do proper self-examination will
be distributed and discuss. These events are held twice a year at Dillard's
more than 300 stores.
Our 2014 Pretty-n-Pink fashion shows were held at three Dillard’s
stores four times from late September to November 1st, 2014. The par-

How should a breast self-exam be performed?
1) In the Shower
Using the pads of your fingers, move around your entire breast in a
circular pattern moving from the outside to the center, checking the
entire breast and armpit area. Check both breasts each month feeling
for any lump, thickening, or hardened knot. Notice any changes and
get lumps evaluated by your healthcare provider.
2) In Front of a Mirror
Visually inspect your breasts with your arms at your sides. Next, raise
your arms high overhead.
Look for any changes in the contour, any swelling, or dimpling of the
skin, or changes in the nipples. Next, rest your palms on your hips and
press firmly to flex your chest muscles. Left and right breasts will not
exactly match—few women's breasts do, so look for any dimpling,
puckering, or changes, particularly on one side.
3) Lying Down
When lying down, the breast tissue spreads out evenly along the chest
wall. Place a pillow under your right shoulder and your right arm be-
hind your head. Using your left hand, move the pads of your fingers
around your right breast gently in small circular motions covering the
entire breast area and armpit.
Use light, medium, and firm pressure. Squeeze the nipple; check for
discharge and lumps. Repeat these steps for your left breast.
Can I rely on breast self-exams alone to be sure I am breast
cancer free?
Mammography can detect tumors before they can be felt, so screening
is key for early detection. But when combined with regular medical
care and appropriate guideline-recommended mammography, breast
self-exams can help women know what is normal for them so they can
report any changes to their healthcare provider.
If you find a lump, schedule an appointment with your doctor, but
don't panic — 8 out of 10 lumps are not cancerous. For additional
peace of mind, call your doctor whenever you have concerns.
What Can I Do To Reduce My Risk of Breast Cancer?
Although you cannot prevent cancer, some habits that can help reduce
your risk are:
1. Maintain a healthy weight
2. Stay physically active
3. Eat fruits and vegetables
4. Do not smoke
5. Limit alcohol consumption
At each event as these breast cancer survivors took to the stage, a short nar-ration of their life struggles and journey fighting breast cancer was read to
the attendees of these events.

Savannah Models, All Are Breast Cancer Survivors
Fit For A Cure
Oct is Breast Cancer Awareness month and Dillard’s is hosting free
bra fitting events at several Cleveland area Dillard's stores from Oct.
15 through 17.
The event, called Fit For The Cure, provides complimentary bra fit-
tings by Dillard’s fit specialist. For every woman who participates,
Dillard’s will donate $2 to Susan G. Komen for breast cancer re-
search and community health programs.
Dillard’s will also donate an additional $2 for every bra, shapewear
item or b.tempt'd bra purchased at any of the local events.
During October, Dillard’s will also donate $2 to Susan G. Komen
for any item purchased from the Dillard’s Embrace Lace collection.
Customers will receive a free gift with the purchase of at least $80
from the Embrace Lace collection.
Dillard’s estimates that eight out of 10 women are wearing the
wrong bra size. It says that women should have an expert fitting at
least once a year as bra size fluctuates with our changing bodies. So
take 15 minutes, meet with an expert and support an important
cause.
It's also crucial to conduct monthly breast exams. Self-examination
is a great way to detect abnormalities at an early stage.
I Am Beautiful Women’s Foundation On Call RN Staffing
We offer our members the opportunity to consult with some of the most
sought after nurses from many of the leading facilities across the country. These nurses have volunteered their time as a community service to I Am
Beautiful Women’s Foundation Members who are not currently assigned or
can’t afford an HMO.
A challenge brings out the best in us. We strive to bring a well rounded so-
lution to the struggles of our members. We are now providing you access to
our certified RN’s on staff. You will find some of the most amazingly tal-ented people in health care right here in our foundation. We will answer
questions concerning the health care needs of low income members, adults
and young girls with debilitating illnesses such as cancer, cardiovascular
disease, diabetes, HIV/AIDS and high-risk pregnancy, (including all types of Alopecia, fire and chemical burns). We will consult with members about
proactive health care, share information about community and government
partners and create lines of communication that provide helpful information concerning your needs.
Utilizing leadership skills and the nursing process, the Staff RN strives to meet the informational needs of our members in a safe, caring and profes-
sional manner. The Staff RN provides for the well-being of members
through member advocacy, education and effective communication with
physicians and other medical organizations.
Our long term goal is to staff each Chapter with the following nursing
professions nationwide:
Registered Nurses (RN)
Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN)

Laura Sykes: I am a stage 4 breast cancer survivor and a new
meaning in my life was clearly define. Dillard's and I Am
Beautiful Women’s Foundation has made so much differ-
ence in my life as I modeled in the fashion shows. The store
members are amazing, supportive and had a zest in making me feel so beautiful and fitting me with beautiful clothes,
fine tuning my makeup and truly given me hope. Thank you
Kathy Hall: I had my first surgery in June. They told me that I
have stage II invasive ductile carcinoma. Everyone has told me
that I have "The right attitude" about this but it is difficult at
times. Dillard’s and I Am Beautiful Women’s Foundation has
reinforced my strength to fight through this journey. You either decide to fight or not. Those are the choices. I love my family
and friends. I have a lot to live for and refuse to give up, so for
now I fight. God has his plan for me. That I am sure of.

One of the most emotionally devastating concerns we hear about from our
members is thinning hair and hair loss. At I Am Beautiful Women’s Foun-
dation, we understand that a woman’s head of hair is her crowning glory —
and losing too much hair can be a serious and frightening blow to her self-
esteem.
Reacting so strongly to the physical state of your hair may seem like van-
ity, but it’s not. Your hair is one of the first areas, along with skin and
nails, to manifest signs of hormonal imbalance, poor nutrition, or illness.
Understanding how hair regenerates and paying attention to any changes in
your hair growth and appearance are important parts of taking care of your-
self.
“I’m A Survivor” is a breast cancer benefit we do in conjunction with our Pretty-n-Pink fashion shows.
Before each event all the breast
cancer survivors came in to
Dillard’s days before the event
to get their face chart for their
make-up, fitting for their
dresses, accessories and shoes.
The Dillard’s staff at each
store was warm hearted and
professional to all the breast
cancer survivors. Each survi-
vor expressed their apprecia-
tion for the way they was
treated by the staff at each

dents from Asheville High
School Cosmetology De-
partment. These young stu-
dents came in with the guid-
ance of Angela Crawford
and their Instructor Trina

ing touches on these
beautiful ladies.
A special thank you goes
out to Dillard’s, all partici-
pating stores, staff and all

breast cancer survivors and
making them feel not for-
gotten and appreciated.
Our Asheville event signified not only our Pretty-n-Pink event but it was the

only breast cancer survivors but survi-vors of all diseases. As shown here our
