Prestige Manufacturing Plant Prestige Granite and Marble Ltd, Liverpool

Prestige Granite and Marble are the North West Largest worktops manufacturer, specialising in manufacturing high quality quartz, granite and marble worktops for over 20 years.

Solarcrown Commercial were successful in initially securing the LED Lighting Upgrade in July 2015 and then subsequently a 100 kWp Solar PV System in January 2016 for the Kirkby based manufacturing plant, Prestige Granite and Marble.

Lighting installations consisted of a point for point replacement of the existing lighting system, changing from discharge to LED lighting. Solarcrown supplied and installed our IP65 High Bay Style Fittings in the main manufacturing areas, with Linear IP65 Fittings incorporating LED tubes.

The quality of lighting and lux levels in the factory have significantly improved, achieving an energy saving in excess of 50% for each point, resulting in excellent project feedback from the client.

The lighting installations consisted of the following luminaires:

• 5 x 150W LED Flood Light.• 53 x 150W LED High Bay 120 Degree Reflector.• 10 x 2 x 25W 1500mm T8 LED Surface Mounted Anti-Corrosive Fitting.• 4 x 2 x 25W High Output 1500mm T8 LED Surface Mounted Anti-Corrosive Fitting.

Solar Photovoltaics System

Due to the success and saving achieved by the LED lighting upgrade, Solarcrown were invited to supply and install our Solar Photovoltaics System to the facility. Subsequently we designed, installed and commissioned a 100KwP PV System consisting of 396 x 250W Vikram Solar PV Panels mounted on the two South Facing roof pitches. The solar PV Panels work in conjunction with 7 x Inverters, which are connected to a G59 Panel and Relay that subsequently feeds back into the existing LV Panel. The system was designed to ensure that all of the energy generated is used on site and therefore maximises the return on investment.
