PRESSURE OPERATED DAMPER
OVERVIEW:The WS series dampers are used to maintain overpressure or under pressure in premises or apartments; they can be used for in air conditioning, ventilation and heating systems. This type of damper can be supplied with an extraction grille with a 20 mm pitch or a net both already mounted. For the intake-model the net is replaced with a square mesh grille for external use, because of the higher strength and the better aspect.

OVERVIEW:The WCS series dampers enable the flow of air in a natural single direction when a difference of pressure between the two sides exits. The blades are free to move on the wrist enabling the flow of air. Once this is achieved the blades shut simply by with the force of gravity.

OVERVIEW :
WM-10 control dampers are a new series of products from the WM series. The WM-10 series of control dampers are suitable for the application on square and rectangular ducts. The control of these dampers can be manual, electric or pneumatic, according to the needs of the ventilation system. The installation of these components allows the control of the air flow rate variation (VAV) or the pressure variation control on several kinds of plants. Specifically:

WM-10 control damper is new in its type due to the innovative movement transmission system of gear-drives, the non existent friction of the mechanism, the assembly method of the materials used, the particular requirement of air flow control with the wing design of the movable blades and the integrated interchangeable controls, allow for a diverse integration and installation in ventilation systems.

CHARACTERISTICS :
DamperMobile closing system mounted into an air duct, designed to control and close air flow.
Frame, materials and construction methodThe frame is manufactured in extruded aluminium and designed to withstand the lateral stress from to air pressure, and built with lateral frame to protect the drive gears.
FlangeManufactured with 30 mm height.
Blades, materials and construction systemThe blades are manufactured from extruded aluminium with a particular profile in order to be a better sealing surface and a good strength to air pressure.
Transversal reinforcementPresent on all dampers with B dimension wider than 1300 mm.
Finishing
MountingBy screws through damper flange and duct flange or by self-threading screws through damper flange and air-treatment unit panel.
MOUNTING SYSTEM :
Damper mounted inside (figure n°2) or at the beginning or at the end of the air duct (figure n°3 and 4) fixed by the frame flange to the duct flange. The control damper can be mounted on the floor or ceiling (figure n°5).
FinishingExtruded aluminium.
Gear drive, materials and construction systemOpposed rotation gears made from PBT with 30% of glass fibre. The gear drive is closed and protected on the frame. The materials used allow a use between a a temperature range between - 40 °C and + 130 °C.

Mechanism, manual control: The basic kit (figure n° 7) includes a handle for the movement and locking, a transmission lever for the strength of the transmission shaft axle and a numbered modular plate inserted in the internal mechanism, inside the frame.
Mechanism, servo control: The complete kit (figure no. 8) guarantees the functionality of the mechanism via means of an electrical signal. It includes the transmission axle and adjustable plate fixed to the frame. This plate is drilled in order to fix standard actuators available on the market.

OVERVIEW
OVERVIEW : The WM-05 series forms a new range do calibration dampers. These dampers are used in ventilation systems and for the regulation of the air distribution in the network.The regulation of the air flow is managed from a manual command able to regulate the blade inclination (WM-05C). In alternative the damper can be equipped with an electric servomotor that can be controlled by the individual themselves (WM-05P).With this scope, a version has also been designed with a control hinge, as shown in the diagrams here below shown.

OVERVIEW :
WR control dampers are a new series of products used for control on circular ducts. This series is available with models WR5 WR6 WR7 WR8 for application on all HVAC plants with manual, pneumatic or electric control. The installation of these components permits the control of the air flow rate variation (VAV) or the pressure variation control on several kinds of plants. Specifically:
a) HVAC plants regulationb) modulated calibrationc) modulated or total closing
Circular control dampers have a different construction according to different installation. Indeed they can be mounted by coupling (figure n° 1) and by flanges (figure n° 2).

Damper: Mobile closing system mounted into an air duct, designed to control and close air flow.
Circular frame, material and construction: Manufactured from galvanized sheet steel with stiffening ribs, complete of two couplings at the ends of the control damper.Circular frame with rims, material and construction:Manufactured from galvanized sheet steel with stiffening ribs, complete of two rims at the ends of the control damper for installation by collars.Circular frame with flanges, material and construction: Manufactured from galvanized sheet steel with stiffening ribs, complete of two flanges at the ends of the control damper for installation by flanges.

Mechanism, manual control: Standard kit (figure no. 5) is constituted by a knob to handle for moving and fixing, lever of swinging shaft, adjustable plate fixed on the frame.
Mechanism, servo control: This kit (figure no. 6) permits to obtain the damper remote control by electric signal. It's constituted by transmission axle and adjustable plate fixed on the frame. This plate is drilled in order to fix standard actuators

OVERVIEW
CONSTRUCTION : The WMIR iris dampers are equipped with a supporting structure with a series of regulation blades, activated by turning a nut or lever (80 diameter). The dampers also have a regulation scale together with sockets for differential pressure gauges. The structure and the blades are made of hot galvanised steel, while the other components are made of plastic. The connections have a gasket on the outside used to ensure the joint is sealed.
USE :The WMIR iris dampers are the ideal solution for precise, quick measuring and regulation of flow rates. For ducts that carryacid fumes or agents that are particularly corrosive, these iris dampers can be used.
Made of AISI 316 stainless steel, upon specific request.

INSTALLATION :The WMIR iris dampers can be riveted in position. For vertical installations, the weight of the ducting positioned on top of thedamper must be fully supported. In addition, the iris damper must be positioned sufficiently far away from branches, unions and any element that can cause disturbances to the measuring of air flow rates. In this case, we recommend installing the units at the safe distance, as indicated below.

In general, the measuring accuracy for an undisturbed flow is around ± 5 %. In the latter case however, the safe distance between the diffuser and the damper is intended to allow the diffuser to work normally, despite the damper being added to the system.
MEASURING THE FLOW RATE :The regulation blades make up an ideal measuring diaphragm, allowing the air flow rate to be measured easily and reliably. The flow rate value is determined by measuring the differential pressure Dpm via connection to a differential pressure gauge.Once the Dpm value is known, the regulation diagram is used to determine the corresponding flow rate. The regulation diagram is clearly shown on the damper close to the regulation nut and includes a set of curves that relate to the various regulation positions. It is important to note that the diagrams on the damper are used only for regulating and not for selection -the selection data is given on the previous pages.

ACOUSTIC CHARACTERISTICS :
The acoustic power levels for the duct, for each octave band, are obtained by adding the correction factor, Koct for the octaveband (see table above) to the total acoustic pressure level Lp10A [dB(A)] using the following equation:
