The consolidation of the solar PV in Italy has started and Prothea, a
financial advisor in the solar energy market, has proven to be a strong
player in this market, successfully advising investors on several acquisitions
for a total of 30MW in the past 12 months.
Italy has been the leading PV market globally in terms of new installations and it has
positioned itself as the second largest market for total capacity installed; 2012 will
be dominated by consolidation, with large and mid size portfolio being disposed.
Prothea, after being active on the development market since 2008, has more
recently focused on supporting investors on acquisition of operating assets in the
Italian solar PV market.
Prothea has successfully advised investors on several M&A transaction for a
cumulative 30MW of installed capacity and is currently completing mandates for
additional projects, with a total enterprise value in excess of 100 Million Euros.
Prothea has also helped investors in successfully arranging long term project finance
in a challenging debt market and continue to stay close to the assets by providing
SPV management services to investors.
Alessandro Cohen, Director of the Energy division at Prothea, has been pivotal for
the success of Prothea in this sector, thanks to its long dated background in M&A
transactions and in the banking industry. Cohen declared: “thanks to the combined

a number of transactions”.

Il consolidamento del mercato del solare fotovoltaico in Italia è iniziato e
Prothea, un advisor finanziario nel mercato delle energie rinnovabili, si è
dimostrato un player solido, supportando con successo investitori
nell’acquisizione di 30MWp negli ultimi 12 mesi.
L’Italia è stato il principale mercato fotovoltaico globale nel 2011 in termini di nuove
installazione e il secondo maggior mercato per capacità totale installata; il 2012 sarà
un anno caratterizzato dal consolidamento, con la cessione di portfoli di grandi e
medie dimensione.
Prothea, dopo essere stata presente nel mercato dello sviluppo dal 2008, si è
