    H.I.H Prince Akilile Makonnen Haile Selassie (Ethiopia) and MmeTheresa Yoman N'dri, Minister of Health and AIDs from Ivory Coast,among guest speakers.SOS CHILDRENS VILLAGE charity and Empowering Women, EmpoweringNations (EWEN) have joined forces to host a high-profile event which aims toraise awareness of the importance of black women in world history, developan understanding of the difficulties facing women in society and to campaignfor equal gender representation in African nations.H.I.H Prince Akilile Makonnen Haile Selassie (Ethiopia), Mme Theresa Yoman N'dri,the Minister of Health and AIDs from Ivory Coast and Mme Anne Dsire Ouloto,Minister of Urban Safety will speak about progress with gender equality in their

    respective countries.

    This event promises to bring the spotlight on what remains a very sensitiveissue in Africa, said EWEN (president) Victor Ofosu. We are thrilled to havesuch a high-profile panel and we especially proud to be hosting this eventduring this month.EWEN was set up in 2011 by Victor Ofosu and works to campaigns andadvocate womens Rights by delivering events and working on the ground inAfrica. SOS Childrens Village is a charity who believes that all children shouldbelong to a family which is why we look after children who have lost their

    parents through war, disease or poverty.

    The overall theme of the event is The role and significance of black women inchanging the history of a lost generation. The lost generation in the respectpertains to the disconnected of todays youths from society. Speakers will alsodiscuss Achievement/Struggle of black women in the UK, this alsoincludes discuss relating to the impact of HIV/AID on the reconstruction ofIvory Coast. The conference is a combination of entertainment and debateevaluating the various matters affecting women development in the 21st

    century.

    Ofosu added: This will be an iconic event that will bring together individualswho represent different cultures, walks of life, and points of view. We cometogether because of our passion for equality, peace, and justice; a messagewe want to share with the rest of the world.The EWEN convention will take place on Friday 25 November 2011 at SOASUniversity of London, Russell Square, London, from 18.00 - 21.00.
